Yeah it really highlights how they control the timing and decisions once they pass the first opposing line. They choose if the play should keep going on the same side, if they should switch the ball to the other side, if they should pass back, play on one touch or have a longer run with the ball

Don’t forget how many of these start with ramsdale
Take away all the negativity and low moments and you will discover that Arsenal played some very good stuff last season even against really tough opponents. This team is really evolving and I love it.
99% of these “beautiful” passes are in our own third.
99% of these “build ups” are resulting in counter attacks instead of controlling possession in the opponent’s final third.
We are just not skillful/technical enough to pass/dribble like this against a low block.
@@thierryhenry674 When we hold possession in the opponents final third you guys complain that there is too much side ways passing. I'm not sure what some of you constant whiners want.

Only folish fans would think those “sideway” passes are not acceptable.
We have Jesus now, but prior to him, we don’t have possession loving players like Rosicky/Cazorla/Nasri...we don’t have tricky dribbler like Sanchez/Hleb/Van Persie/Arshavin....I am angry we lost all our technical/skillful players over the years.
@@thierryhenry674 Yes prime Barcelona and Man City do a lot of sideways passing until they wear their opponents out, especially when the opponents are packing the bus, which is usually the case. No one complains but when Arsenal do it, it is a problem. When Arsenal don't do it, that's also a problem. You say Arsenal does not have technical players anymore. What then are the likes of Partey, Odegaard, Saka even White? Now we also have Fabio Viera. Admit it, you just enjoy complaining all the time.

Of course we need to dominate possession in the final third if we wanted to get back to the top.
Those folish “fans” who look down on “sideway” passes understand nothing about football.
These “fans” can somehow watch this style of beautiful/entertaining possession football dominating the PL for so long winning everything, but still think that it is rubbish “tipi tapi”.
They should support a relegation side, I am sure they will play boring, direct, defensive, counter attack hoof ball, which these folish “fans” will like.
Do you think the players you have list are even half as skillful/technical as the players I have listed?
Partey/Odegaard’s technical ability are levels below Busquets/Fernandinho/de Jong/Cazorla/Modric/Thiago...
Saka/Martinelli can’t even do skill moves like Sane/Mahrez/Hleb/Sanchez....And they are always rushing to play forward, way too direct. They need to slow down and keep possession like Nasri/Cazorla/Rosicky/Iniesta/Xavi....
Strikers as well, do you think nketiah, or previously auba/laca/walcott/podolski/giroud are half as skillful on the ball as Van Persie/Sanchez/Suarez/Firmino/Aguero/Jesus/Tevez.....?
When City is having Zinchenko/Cancelo, and Liverpool is having Trent, who do we have? When all of them can dribble like Sanchez and pass like Cazorla.
We only have skilless Tierney/Tomiyasu.
Shows how crucial ø, xhaka, tomi, and saka are. So excited for new season. Jesus is so lucky to have this behind him and we're so lucky to have him to finish it off.

It's all Odegaard. He is the key to Arsenal's season this year. Also, Elneny is going to be a key squad player as well, the guy understands Arteta's tactics and is showing his true game.
Both of them, plus ESR, Partey and Xhaka all understand how Arteta wants to play seem to enjoy it more then how we use to play
100%% without Odegard the whole team can’t play the way Mikel wants. His like the young ozil!!
@@HazaraAfguk Difference between Özil and Ødegaard is work ethic. Ødegaard is active with the ball and without. I remember last season Ødegaard fell to his knees after some matches, so fucking tired 😅
Exactly what Arteta wants from his players. Vieira can cover him in Cup- and Europa League matches. We need him to be fit all season. Our captain
The tasty clips have Partey involved. Odegaard is just magical now imagine the Viera addition. The return of Saliba at the back will make passing ever mouthwatering. Gabriel Jesus is best suited for this link up play. Should be a lovely season to watch Arsenal ball. Good progress in what Arteta is building.
Bukayo Saka is an exceptional initiator of one-two combinations. Some of the corridors him and Ødegaard are combining in are so narrow and the space closes quickly but they consistently make it work.
He’d be an excellent cm one day
I think as he age, he will move to a deeper role like a wing back or inverted full back.

In these clips, you can really see why Arteta has faith in Xhaka, even when the fans dont, in a lot of these clips xhaka makes some very nice passes that gets arsenal out of tight spaces

@@tinochinez8413 fair, but he gets around when he needs to, you dont really see him trying to outdribble players. Obviously i would take tielemans over him anyday but for now, im okay with him in the team
as long as he's not burdened with defensive responsibility, Xhaka can be a good team player to have. But definitely upgrade-able, either Tielemans, Ruben Neves, Fabian Ruiz, Kovacic, or perhaps Tanguy Ndombele?.
@@HenSt-gz7qj I totally agree, but i doubt ndombele or kovacic would come, because of rival clubs and i dont think we target neves anymore, lots of hints suggest tielemans is in the process of joining. fingers crossed

This could literally be a Odegaard comp, and people still talk about how bad he is.. My guy is literally so fucking important to how this Arsenal team functions.

I was watching passing highlights from a few seasons ago and Ozil was in almost every clip. It's so good to see that the whole squad is able to generate great ball movement and that we aren't so dependent on one player's movement and creativity for that.
I love the way Arsenal pop the ball about when they’re really on song…. It’s beautiful to watch attacking moves form and develop
Ødegaard is involved in lot of these, just like Özil in the good old days

This is wonderful and very pleasant to watch, I love what arteta i sdoing, slowing bringing a style of play with players ready to play for the badge. This is modern football and what a good job is doing. This is not fluke but hardwork and persistence is paying off. The lads are playing together and the chemistry would even get better in the coming season.
The Southampton goal is the perfect example proper teamwork . Just notice tomiyasu in the end makes very good deceptive run to confuse the keeper

Xhaka's one touch passing between the lines is so beautiful. Something tielemans has in Abundance.
When we have guys like Xhaka, Partey and Odegaard in midfield, we play some beautiful stuff. With Eddie and Jesus up top it might just all come together in the final third

One thing I like about Artetaball is the fact that it gives the players the confidence they need on the ball, which Arsenal has lacked for a very long time. And although, we're still a work in progress if we can continue to build this confidence, the play from back will be extraordinary and mind-blowing. Every department is important... I see Arsenal's resurgence, and can't wait for more of this phenomenal ball play.
Odegard is tooo integral to our play wow … they called arteta the novice but has us playing like this … we need big signings to compliment this.

Good thing is they are all able to interchange and integrate into different phases of play. Arteta is just repeating the Wenger playbook. That's the only way you get total football.

This video just shows how they move the ball around so well and don’t give the opposition time to tackle the ball. It also shows how crucial it is to get the ball up and switch the play and how much awareness they have on the pitch of who is around them.

From Ramsdale's distribution, right through to the forwards - the passing is sublime, instinctive and so fast. What gets me, is that most of the goals aren't even smashed into the net; they're quite slow balls, with great accuracy.

important to mention, that you can play this type of style ONLY when you have a goalkeeper with Ramsdale's passing abilities...... the ball always starts very deep
Quick one touches around the middle to breake the press, and longer balls along the floor to release the wingers behind the fullback who have pressed up. You'll see that a lot against teams who look to press us, or even attack us. Hence we see those type of moves a lot when playing the big teams. I love how quickly we also switch from left to right and visa versa when we attack. It's something really undermined in our build up play. With Zinchenko, I think Martinelli will really be unlocked because the reason IMO Saka was getting so much ball and service is how well Tomiyasu or Cedric would get up to create an over lap or underlap, whilst Ø would also eliminate markers by being a willing runner, having a Jesus running in behind will allow for even more threaded passes behind the backline. We never had that with the left side because as great as Tierney is, he couldn't play the inverted, which had Xhaka not bombing forward as much as he could to support Martinelli, because he'd have to cover the overlap Tierney would make. Zinchenko is the Key for that left side with his inverted runs, it'll allow Martinelli to occupy the half space between the cb and rb, and with his technical ability, he will put Martinelli in behind as the rb will have Xhaka or whoever his replacement will be to watch. And well, Martinelli does what Martinelli does with one on one's. Really excited honestly. That's why I'd save money for the cm position, and get a Sane or Diaby even with that pace and trickery to offer competition to both the RW and LW. Tielemens would be a luxury, but being the transfer season and showing intent to win it all, and still challenge top 4, I like the idea of him, even though I'd prefer ESR being developed into a free roaming 8. If Vieira blows up, we could have a starting mid 3 of ESR, Ø and Partey, and a b team of Vieira, Lokonga (better at 8 honestly) and Xhaka. I like that. A lot.
