      @@BMPHF1 the team lacks stability even back when Cyril was team principal. The talent wasn’t there in the PU department. Lack of communication between departments, and the process is not going anywhere. Renault made Ferrari looked like a politically stable team, especially right now. All of that isn’t even a benefit of hindsight like everything else Ricciardo has chosen. It was obvious to those who paid attention back then. The recent podcast from Szafnauer basically cemented all the details we got over the past 8 years since Renault rejoined.

      and this is such a hindsight Andy take. When he left Red Bull in 2018 he was 6th in driver’s standing and Red Bull was 3rd, 200+ points behind Mercedes. At the time RB was having massive issues with durability. Nobody knew they would eventually be a championship winning team 3-4 years later at the time.

    Daniel Ricciardo, one of the biggest what if stories in recent F1 memory. He went from being a future world championship favorite in his Red Bull days to a false dawn during his McLaren tenure (beginning of the end), Ricciardo also being a victim of the Red Bull system as well.

    Danial Riccardo has always reminded me of Kimi Raikkonen they both always had a relatively small performance window. They need a certain balance of the car and tyres to be at their peak. But when they got that car, they were some of the fastest drivers of all time. Absolutely untouchable. So much raw pace and it was hardly a one off.

      @@ClinicalDecisionYikesYT Maybe in terms of raw pace and talent. I won't argue about that. But they need the car to work in a specific way for them to drive at their peak and that's when they both showed they were absolute monsters when they were behind the wheel.

    My biggest thought looming in my head ever since Danny announced his jump to McLaren is "Why did he not just go there first in 2019?" He really needed to just commit to someone yet he just torpedoed his own chances in the long run. Still it was a pleasure to experience him through a TV screen and will certainly be watching his highlights for years to come.

    Danny was 100% good enough to win atleast 1 title. He was the best driver in 2014 imo and argubly 2016 and 2020 (Lewis was godly in 2020 though). Danny did lose a step when he got back into that AlphaTauriTorrorossovisacashappracingballs car. But he was still good imo, his quali was very inconsistant in 2024, but he was consistantly beating Yuki in the races yet when Danny beat Yuki people ignored it, but when Yuki beat Danny people shitted on Danny and said how talented and good Yuki is. I just personally dont understand why no one gave Danny credit when he was able to beat Yuki in quite alot of races given how high Yuki is rated

    • @BMPHF1
      @BMPHF1  Місяць тому

      It went both ways I think at VCARB. Yuki got some stick a few times as well as Danny. The real problem was the team strategies - not the drivers. They were both performing very well

    • @samsea0489
      @samsea0489 Місяць тому

      That’s because Tsunoda had issues that were out of his control.
      Spain- Had a damaged floor bracket that affected his pace.
      Austria- VCARB ran split specifications on Ricciardo and Tsunoda’s vehicles.
      Belgian- Tsunoda’s race wasn’t treated as a race. It was treated as test session based on the VCARB looking for answered after they adjusted the new power unit on Tsunoda’s vehicle in free practice plus during the race, Tsunoda reported that he break issues so that’s the reason why Ricciardo was miles ahead.
      Zandvoort- recieved a terrible strategy from VCARB
      Italy- got taken out by Hulkenberg plus Tsunoda was only driver fitted with that upgrade that didn’t work.
      Ricciardo hasn’t really beaten Tsunoda on merit most of the time except for China, Canada and Hungary

    Danny Ric was likely never a champ driver, but he's been a VERY good driver for like three quarters of his career and the fact that RB did him so dirty at the end of the day goes to show 2 things:
    1. Red Bull's psychopathy and entitled mentality is coming to roost
    2. Danny should've been in DTM or Supercars (or Super Formula or Indy or yknow) so that he could actually flourish

    I think his first leave in RB was a mistake but not on him, on RB definitely... Max was building his talent on the track, no doubt that he was going to be a WDC one day, all right as RB dreamed and supported him for. But what about that 2-3 years while Max is still in progress and Dan was one of the most possible WDC contenders... I saw him as the next champion in those years, and even with Max next to him as a new-rookie driver, I felt the possibility stronger....
    Nevertheless, it was a dream of mine, partially ruined by RB's strategy of not giving him enough care-support etc and no luck was there for him, also supported the disappointed care of Dan by RB.
    I just wish for a parallel universe film-vision that leads him to the WDC as my heart truly sees him & his pure and rare talent...

  • @avinashrajbonshi
    @avinashrajbonshi Місяць тому +2

    I respectfully disagree with most of what you’re saying but you’re not entirely wrong. Daniel Ricciardo hasn’t been a too tier talent in over 3 years, nothing to show for it, most drivers would get dropped by formula 1 after the kind of season he had in 2022. He’s privileged, he had someone like horny Horner behind him that give him the opportunity to return which he did in a junior team, a team specifically for RB Junior Drivers, him being there itself was a slap in the face of bunch of rookies that were left without a seat. Yuki has been a better driver for a while now and it’s a shame it was Daniel Ricciardo that was considered a replacement for Perez when RBR have a very capable driver in Tsunoda. Ricciardo is overrated, he isn’t even on the same level as Bottas and if you disagree with that you’re stupid or blinded by his “honey badger” “cutie” shtick. I absolutely agree Perez should be out of F1 along with Ricciardo, their time has passed, it’s time to let youngbloods take over. Now before anyone comes at me for “oh Alonso is over 40, Lewis is gonna be 40 when he joins Ferrari” bs, those world champions, multiple world champions, 2 and 7 respectively, Lewis is performing all out fantastic this season, Alonso had a pretty good 2023 season and a somewhat okay season this year partly due to the car but still okay, these oldheads still got it, Ricciardo doesn’t, he needed to go like after 2022z

    • @BMPHF1
      @BMPHF1  Місяць тому

      Appreciate your perspective! 💯 I agree with the fact that he should have been done after 2022 because those McLaren years were abysmal. That’s why I say the Alpha Tauri opportunity was a “lifeline”. I wouldn’t say he was overrated though but to each their own I guess. Yuki for the most part as you say was the better driver when they were teammates. But then also, I think Ricciardo in the right environment still has it in him to perform very very well. Ham and Alonso are have other-worldly longevity that we probably won’t see ever again. Overall though, Ricciardo had a great career - better than most.

    Man, I m not here to insult your intelligence but Vettel dominated this sport for a matter of a lesser than a season, and by that season I mean 2013 especially the 2nd part of the season when all the others were focusing on the next generation of cars so had no interest in battling for points.
    And about Ricciardo, I think he should have kept that ,,little flower that just rised from the ground” , with other words, keeping to develop the Renault car, comparing the 2019 to 2020 season was a huge and impressive achievement… maybe with Ricciardo and Alonso for 2021-2022 period or even more, that team could have rise from its ashes and now we were talking about a multiple race wins team in the most pesimist scenario

    I love Ricciardo. He’s an incredibly talented f1 pilot, no doubt about it. But, I personally think that he over-calculated his performance. This reflected on how his manager negotiated with his compensation.
    Obviously, Checo is still with RB due to Carlos Slim, and the fact it’s easy to put him into his place.
    Max is an exceptional f1 champ. It’s in his blood. Jos turned him into a beast. After seeing him drive in a skiing resort for a RB ad, I knew he is a machine.
    You pointed out DaniRic’s weakest point: slow to acclimate into a new team/engine. His team-hopping definitely ruined him.

    Daniel Riccardo in my opinion was the luckiest driver because he never showed enough in Torro Rosso and the only reason he got the drive was because his 26 year old teammate who is clear team leader was ' old'.
    2014 Sebastion could never have beaten him in the races because let's not forget contract clause could only be activated if only he doesn't win a race and no top 3 or something in standings.
    Also if you look at quali pace it was 0.058s on Sebastion's one of the worse seasons,
    also 2015 Dani kyvat beat him and in quali clear faster driver by only ( 0.092s)
    2016 Dani Kyvat got teams first podium in china got unfairly treated by my Hero Seb and than just one race in Russia he is out
    2017 on some weekend Daniel was 7-8 tenths slower 1/4 races like that
    2018 Max either crashed or destroys Daniel
    2019 until the last 4 races he was barely matching Hulk.
    2020 was a great season of Daniel but again at the last stretch Ocon was clearly fast also got team's best result P2
    2021 was horrible the closest he got to Lando's pace was (0.101s) to Lando and that was Monza but still a tenth off
    2022 let's not talk about that
    2023 Hungary beat Yuki great oh Yuki didn't have any upgrades ( I am not sure why but no upgrades for lead driver is crazy)
    2023 Mexico great performance but wait a minute before oscar's crash how is yuki from last to just 5s behind Daniel.
    The problem isn't he is bad if you remove biased the problem is he bad compared to drivers like Yuki who red bull don't rate good enough
    The only reason he kept his seat was because of his comments in support of Horner saying sexual misconduct victim are just distraction nothing more

    • @BMPHF1
      @BMPHF1  Місяць тому +1

      Appreciate the well thought out comment. I don’t know if the thing about Seb’s contract clause is true… maybe I’m just uninformed. But its also not like Vettel was bad in 2014 he still had some great qualifying sessions and races. Kvyat I think was underrated - Russia 2016 basically gave Red Bull an excuse to throw Max into the car. Then obviously Max came in and it’s not like Daniel was getting “destroyed”. The average qualifying gap between them in 2018 was not a lot. And his races have always been very strong too. Then Renault things were going well til he decided to hop to McLaren - at which point it was game over. He was far from overrated though imo.

    • @WheelGunner-F1
      @WheelGunner-F1 Місяць тому

      You should watch the race again. That message was on lap 40. On lap 36 Norris said he should speed up and they relayed that to Ricciardo. Norris made one attack attempt on lap 36. Ricciardo then picked up the pace and opened up a gap from between 1.3 seconds to over 2 seconds and Norris couldn't close it. There was zero reason for the team to switch a 1 and 2, especially when Perez was bouncing between more than a second to over 3 seconds to Norris.

      You sound like twelve year old new F1 fan, so you diss Daniel, because you never saw his prime. Average F1 drivers like Hulkenberg and Magnussen dont really win eight races in their F1 careers. How is average not F1 material, when decent average drivers reaxh to mid-tier teams and thats why Daniel been hanging there or bit above it most of his career. You are trash at best yourself and thats why you never even came close to reaching F1 at all. There are millions of people who could dream to drive in F1, but only tweanty reach there and thats why all F1 drivers are great. Their prime will then end, when they start aging and so they wont get as good results anymore and might retire, but they retire as multi millionare, while you never retired yourself from F1, because you werent ever even close to being good enough to get there in the first place.

    I assume that you do your videos in a style you enjoy, but it's 2024 and this "I have a meme for everything I say" shtick is so tired. I truly enjoy what you have to say about F1, it's clear you're knowledgeable and passionate about it, but it's a real shame that you decide to drown your script in mostly unfunny soundbites or in memes that have nothing to do with F1. You don't need to have random screams, laughs, whatever, every 10 seconds to keep viewer's attention. Maybe it's just me becoming an old man, but I honestly dislike it. I'll keep watching since your commentary overweighs the problems I described, but oh man, how your content would be so much better without cheap memery. Be confident that your script is enough to keep your audience engaged. I'm pretty sure you're losing a huge demographic of F1's audience with this annoying editing style.
