My great grandfather was a lieutenant colonel in the South Vietnamese Army, although he didn't go directly into the battlefield to fight and i dont support either the former republic or the now communist state, i still wanted to have a chance to speak to him today 'cuz he was a really smart, talented and kind guy, but sadly he passed away due to his sickness during his time in the reeducation camps

He said he didn't feel it when the bullet hit him because of the adrenaline during combat. After the removal of freedom from Vietnam, he moved to the US after serving prison time in 1984. My grandpa helped build a house for my family in SF. On December 30, 2020, after years of contributing to my family, he passed away. In honor of him, I want to join the US Navy or Air Force and become a fighter pilot. That's also my dream btw.
