I was 6 years, when i watched this live. Those were Rossi's golden years and my "I love motorsports" years. I have been watching a lot of F1 races and MotoGP races. But i have to admit that Rossi was not my favorite in those times, Sete Gibernau was. Rossi became my favorite from 2007 to 2010 or 2011. I can't say i stopped watching motorsports, but from 2011 they were no longer my favorite kind of sports.

I can understand bcuz football is my favorite but Rossi has always been my favorite rider he brings see excitement to the sport and races that's why we watch it for 🤔

What happened with rossi?

By the look of it: grip. His whole approach depends on it. Either tires or bike setup. They where still experimenting. Later in his career, he often used harder tires than his competitors, just keeping up early in the races but gaining pace towards the end. Did not happen here, hence my guess.

He had problems with the fork in the first 3 races of the season, but they fixed it before the 4th.
