If LEGO will bring 2001 Kanohi and keep selling their recolors in Mata/Turaga/Metru colors, making the Toa body out of still produced bricks is pretty easy. Yeah, it requires a lot of bricks to recreate what was possible years ago for a single brick, but balljoints are still available. Technic bricks too ;)

I was but a tiny baby in the ancient prehistoric years of the early 2000’s and could barely handle the original sets, but now that it’s the mighty space age year of 2024 I’m an elderly curmudgeon who wants their more complex boncle. Imagine licensed sets with the sort of detail we see in fanmade mocs. Imagine a toa mata Onua with massive, poseable claws. Imagine The Makuta in their full, eldritch glory alongside their monstrous creations. Weaponry like cordak blasters, zamor launchers, and skyblasters (to name only a few) all streamlined and brick built. Visorak that are actually *spiders.* C’mon LEGO, we’re big kids now, we can handle sets with a bit more substance to them. Also, Bionicle was my childhood. Like, full stop. I’ve always felt that it was too *big* to be represented by the mainline action figures alone. A few big, incredibly detailed display pieces would be just what the doctor ordered. Also also, this ended up kinda rambly, and in the process of typing I forgot how everything was ordered and failed to make it match with the video’s structure like I should’ve to make my crazed ramblings make sense. Whoops.
Being a bit skeptical, I think if Bionicle comes back it might be more of the modern constraction figure-style. Maybe using mixel joints and scaling them down a little bit.
I can’t see a reason (beyond money) why they can’t just remake the molds? There is no way they can’t do that….bionicle was all about taking a leap of faith and trying something new….it worked back then…and I’m willing to bet that if they just rereleased the classic bionicle set by set, year by year, that they would make their money….they would at least have my money
13 Billion dollar net-worth from 2023 (Statista). At the very least bring the Bionicle and Hero Factory parts to pick-a-brick. We need to stop asking and start demanding. LEGO can do it, and they can do it incrementally add one piece after the other.
i mean i think bionicle could make a good comeback. I think a part of the reason the 2015 reboot failed is that the market at the time was super saturated with other constraction figures that used the same skeletons and mostly the same parts. there were so many star wars sets that used the same skeletons and molds, and even the bionicle figures were mostly using the systems designed for hero factory. I think a new wave that used new parts, that had a good tv show could do really well, because even though lego currently has the big system based construction figures, if they go back to the ball joint and technic based system for bionicle, it will stand out pretty well.
The problem with a continuation is that the lore got way too complex and self-involved for new audiences to integrate with. Also the reason G2 failed is that Lego tried too hard to market it to both the original audience (who didn't want it because it wasn't the thing they had as kids) and expected said audience to market it to younger people in their lives.
I 100% agree with the “keep the mind open thing” I think that even if some people like it and some don’t we should still all show our support for the theme. One thing too is that I’d probably be fine with system bricks! They could probably make some really really cool stuff from it!!!

I’m not sure how true this is but I’ve heard it’s more financially viable to destroy moulds than keep them. For a company that has made an ungodly amount of unique elements over the years, that scans tbh
Replying to myself but I had a thought, hasbro is very beholden to what moulds they happen to find. Take that Beast Wars: Transformers reissue line from a few years ago. If they had better moulds, why would they EVER do nobodies like Retrax and Iguanus? We still don’t have a dinobot or rhinox!
Fuck rumors LEGO needs to bring the Bionicle and Hero Factory parts into pick-a-brick. "b-b-b-but the m-m-molds are d-d-destroyed..." BRO, LEGO had a net worth of 13 BILLION dollars from the year 2023 (Statista). They have the resources to reverse engineer the molds from the given parts. It's not a big deal they did it once, and I do NOT understand people defending LEGO for not getting their ass moving. You're telling me they can make plenty of new molds for very specific D'n'D minifugures for a one of series, but they let us scour through second hand parts? LEGO is also cutting more and more corners, have you seen the coming mineral display? It's not going to cost less than 30 bucks and if they manage to get some off color pieces in their to fill the non-visible bits I'm impressed and shocked that we let LEGO starve us. I say end the finite! Start with the old pieces LEGO doesn't even have to do something new.
4:37 Lego has sort of done this. Back in 2019 in certain Lego Star Wars sets, a minifigure from the first few years of Lego Star Wars was included. The only difference was a 20th anniversary logo printed on all of their backs.
Be that some one? I need LEGO to at least bring the Bionicle and Hero Factory pieces to pick-a-brick. Tbh I'd really like to see something totally unique, maybe not even Lego sets. I, personally, think Lego could license the bionicle brand out to other action figure brands. Kinda like how marvel used to have these toyetic figures from toybiz, but now they still do toyetic stuff in marvel legends, but now have them from import figure companies like revoltech or sh figuarts. I'm just saying this bcs I desperately want a super-posable revoltech toa.
I would imagine a mix of 1 and 4 is shst I'd most realistically expect. System character builds in a new but in universe set story. And when it comes to G2, I think there was genuine passion on the psrt of the toy's figures.
The only one i see happening is the first one. And then i'd very much prefer it be a new ip. I think lego is currently missing a pocket money toyline and a roughly mixels sized system based action figure line is what i hope happens
Unfortunately there's no way Lego still has the Bionicle molds ☹️. Molds (at least Lego's) are very expensive to store without degrading, and even then they still degrade slowly. If a Lego piece isn't used in a set for a while (3 or 5 years or so, I forget), its mold is recycled unless someone makes a very good case for keeping it

despite me wanting to see it too, i highly doubt lego making canister sets in canisters since lego wants to be more eco friendly as seen with paper bags or even digital instructions, bionicle g3 would most likely have the same or similar packaging to g2. also poor lewa he always got mind controlled 0:29
Took the words right out of my mouth. To see bionicle return would be a dream come true, but we are lying to ourselves with largely unfounded hype. Lego's stubbornness around the themes they make is because they want to minimize the amount said themes compete against each other (this is the reason they refuse to do any scifi city sets, because it would compete with and likely outdo lego city). So long that Ninjago is popular and successful, bionicle would only cause such internal competition. The overlap is likely too close for comfort in lego's eyes. Brick build bionicle does seem the most likely, but also in my mind a bit of a disappointment. Building with technic is fun in a way brick built sets can't replicate. I agree that the best ending would be for Lego to take a page from dr who and just make new bionicles, pick up where they left off, take notes from what they've learned since (durable plastic and thick molds). Bring back the courage to experiment and invent that g1 had, be bold and find that dark yet awesome tone/style that gave bionicle its bite. But like thats gonna happen.
Jett, if I worked for Lego and they gave me the task of bringing back Bionicle I would do this: 1: 3D printing. No new moulds. No money crises 2: Revamp the designs that they incorporate ccbs and the new lego system 3: New plot, new world. It still pays homage to the og
It's unlikely since Lego destroyed all the original molds a few years after the line was discontinued, but it would be cool to have at least some kind of revival of Bionicle. It's been almost 10 years since Bionicle G2 and Lego has been working in Bionicle references in various sets, mostly in stickers and stuff, so you never know.
Just to add on to the system idea, Lego created a constraction system called ccbs(charecter creature building system) only for it to be shut down. However, in 2022 they made sccbs(system character creature building system) This new system just adds more constraction elements to system, so perhaps they could utilize these parts in a system constraction theme.
Sadly I don't know how viable CCBS is, much less having a new part each set. Weigh cost to demand. System would only beg prints, since the details you can just build. I only got in with G2, and my cousins' random parts, so I'm not as attached alas. Hell, I'm a rebuilder who likes Lego Transformers so I'm really not a similar demographic. But in all honesty, for the spirit of creativity, System works better because most the time you're not stuck with odd dimensions. Unless they use the mech limbs I HATE THOSE PARTS WITH A PASSION.
Out of all these ideas...I think the first one would be the most likely to reach fruition; It makes the most sense from an economics standpoint (AKA: They wouldn't have to make a whole bunch of new, super specialized pieces to make the line work). Not to mention that it would allow them to draw inspiration from their other themes, like Monkie Kid...Ninjago...Hidden Side, etc.
Honestly there were a lot of future plot points that never came to pass when bionicle originally ended so continuing on from that means there will already be a lot of ideas to pull from. Not to mention all the lore bits dropped by chris faber on his channel.
I admit, while Bionicle will always remain in my heart since my childhood, I can't say I'd be thrilled to see a comeback of any kind, not that it should stop them, it would be amazing for even the most die hard Bionicle fans to be able to see this come back. That and while I own the Toa Mata Tahu set (kinda, it lost some pieces by time) and really wished I could had completed the entire lineup back then, it just doesn't feel the same to me and my most awkward confession, I felt confused with the lore back as a kid and somewhat still am even when I look back at it over and over (you'd be right that's a silly confession). What I could hope, whether it's unlikely or in a minimal chance likely, I'd only buy a re-attempt of the original Toa Mata Tahu set, or at least I'd buy three or four copies, even having one out of the box and just play with it, even back then I would play random adventures that had nothing to do with the main lore, which is ridiculous in one point, but it was amazing for me back then, it felt nice that I'll say for sure.
What will we have sooner? 1. Bionicle returned, 2. Gta 6 Release date or at least second trailer at this poin launch is likely 2030, 3. Flagship phones with fast removeble bateries, sd cardslots. I gues none. :D
Honestly - new-mold economy and the focus shift away from Technic dictates the best way to go would be slightly redesigned kanohi slapped onto GWP style figures. You would only need one new mold per set, overall costs would remain... somewhat sensible... and it would look a hell of a lot less goofy than those face stickers.
I think seeing a sequel to the original series would be awesome and it’s something I’ve brainstormed plenty on my own time, but I’d kind of like to see a new constraction line. Bionicle had its time in the spotlight, but let’s see what other worlds that can be made with the system. I mean I’m a Hero Factory fan, and that certainly wouldn’t have been made if bionicle kept going.
Please Lego, I want Option 4. But what I think is actually happening for G3 is entirely fan-built. We've been building with the Lego Bionicle pieces since they came out, but recently you and others have been designing the communities own masks and pieces and 3D printing them (and in the best cases, casting them in resins with similar physical properties to the original plastics). I think it'd be ideal, in this scenario, if the comic book writers gave us a new story as inspiration, but generally it seems that the fans are making our own G3
I never got into Bionicle, (I was more into Hero Factory,) but it certainly looks amazing. I could never figure out how to effectively use the pieces, so I just didn't like them. (This is because I wasn't around for Bionicle itself, so I never got the sets for it.)
Please im begging for this to be true. It makes total sense with Lego pivoting to marketing to an older audience. Theres a significant potential market for the return of Bionicle and I'm part of that.
I would just love to get "something" Bionicle. If they give us a brand new reboot or continuation of the story with Generation 3 - great! If they give us special 25th anniversary celebration mini sets THAT AREN'T LOCKED BEHIND YOU BUYING OTHER LEGO PRODUCTS - terrific! But if we don't get anything from Bionicle, especially next year for the 25th anniversary, it's gonna be very sad and disappointing...
Exacly, if they don't want to make new molds, they should just stick to LEGO Technic bricks. Eventually, new ratchet joints from Ninjacho mechs for titans. Like in the two of four current LEGO Ideas projects, which proven that there is still hope for Technic-based Bonks in the future
Which is ironic, given the fact that plastic canisters are far more useful as storage than those cardboard boxes. I will say that the metal canisters introduced in the third wave of constraction Knights Kingdom 2 sets were even better.
I don't even want strictly sets at this point, I just feel the need for Lego to do SOMETHING with the IP. Release an artbook, license the IP out to some other (not necessarily toy) companies while having complete oversight, I feel like there's a lot that can be done without Lego spending gajillions upon bazillions on developing a new theme that will definitely not sell because core fans will whine about it not being exactly like g1 and potential new audiences already buying Ninjago. At least they're not viciously guarding it like Nintendo guards every copyright of theirs, including dead ones. Letting a fangame about a 24 year old dead toyline be listed on Steam ain't much, but it's nice to know the Danish are chill like that.
Holy shit. That Mormon comment is feeling very real right now. I Just sold some classic in-box sets to someone who I'm pretty sure was a Mormon. Those guys are very well connected btw.
If they do system like the Ninjago mechs i hope they remember to make the oints moveable because i was so disappointed by the Cole/SOra mech non having moveable knees/elbows/hands Mybuild has a series of mechs with 14 moveable joints and they cost less then the ninjago ones. I don't really want a bionicle series with less flexibility than the original Nuva tbh.
Sokoda tried it in his LEGO Ideas diorama and LEGO rejected that idea. That's why now, other fans are trying witch Technic-built Bonks instead. Will it succeed? We shall see when any of them will have 10k votes, but we need more MOCs. Only 4 Bionicle MOCs on LEGO Ideas is not enough
i had some bionicles and hero factory when i was younger they were cool i would like to see them return, i also have a question is bakugan also discontinued now?

0:56 not even a minute in and Im getting called tf out.
also not related but hoodz n the woodz joe hawley as bg music is a crazy a pull
0:57 this is the most I've felt represented in my life
average bocchi fan (same)
Just treat it like Transformers. G1, G2, Beast Wars, etc.
I’m not sure about anyone else but I want to see more of that tank in the back of your room (;
YES A NEW BIONICLE VIDEO THANK YOU JETT KUSO OHHHHHH GOD IS GOOD GOD IS GOOD
i mean i think bionicle could make a good comeback.
Would I be excited if Bionicle comes back again (again)? Of course! But, it’s ok for something beloved to stay in the past. That’s why it’s beloved.
I remember having very fond memories of having onr of the "aquatic bionicles" with the squid launcher or whatever that fish thing was
Barraki, best villains
that tahu and takua randomly showed up on amazon for $20 and i have no regrets about picking it up
I 100% agree with the “keep the mind open thing” I think that even if some people like it and some don’t we should still all show our support for the theme. One thing too is that I’d probably be fine with system bricks! They could probably make some really really cool stuff from it!!!
Ok im just gonna say it. We need a B-Daman Reboot !
what the fuck that "lego" RX-78-2 looks sick af
Second I saw Mitchbuild’s moc on the image I clciked
i never undestood why LEGO is so adamant about destroying molds, meanwhile hasbro comes out wuith 20 year old transformers repros, including the pill bug noone even liked
This "molds are dead" mindset is killing me. 13 Billion dollar net-worth from the year 2023 (Statista). THEY CAN MAKE NEW MOLDS. Reverse engineer the molds from the given parts. The 3d models exist, they have a vault with all the parts, they can get all the parts and make new molds. They need the urgency to do it.
AT LEAST bring the Bionicle pieces and Hero Factory pieces to pick-a-brick.
Also Bandai still reproducing 40 year old model kits from Gundam.
The thing I hated most about the reboot were the parts. I hated ccbs and it's armour pieces because to me they didn't feel and look "Bionicle"
I went to my childhood mall and walked past what used to be the KB Toys I’d buy all my Bionicles from. Great timing!
If this is True that it's finally coming back after 10 Years since G2 Came out I'm curious to see what they'll do with a New Building System 😄
Thank you for giving me hope jett especially since its my birthday!
If possible I just hope someone sends this video to The Lego company so they actually see this and might think about it
Be that some one?

Tbh I'd really like to see something totally unique, maybe not even Lego sets. I, personally, think Lego could license the bionicle brand out to other action figure brands.
Kinda like how marvel used to have these toyetic figures from toybiz, but now they still do toyetic stuff in marvel legends, but now have them from import figure companies like revoltech or sh figuarts.
I'm just saying this bcs I desperately want a super-posable revoltech toa.
I want Bionicle model kits produced by Bandai.
As nice as it would be to see Bionicle come back, I don't see myself spending money on them if they're system sets.
If so, hopefully it will succeed better than the last return.

Gen z trans women when there’s a large robot that gets to change forms (me I am a Gen z trans woman)
But like thats gonna happen.
i want just blatant action figures that aren't locked to the lego system at all. i care about the characters more than the brand at this point
Jett, if I worked for Lego and they gave me the task of bringing back Bionicle I would do this:
1: 3D printing. No new moulds. No money crises
2: Revamp the designs that they incorporate ccbs and the new lego system
3: New plot, new world. It still pays homage to the og
Oh also. I wouldnt mind system builds. Those that hate it are just salty
It's only been 60 seconds and I already got clocked just by watching this video 🤣
I definetly think a Bionicle reboot/relaunch needs the mystery angle to succeed.
My favorite idea is a Halloween code being included in a November video.
The issue with option 2 is that lego has already destroyed all the molds, as they do with any mold that goes unused for 5 years
I think seeing a sequel to the original series would be awesome and it’s something I’ve brainstormed plenty on my own time, but I’d kind of like to see a new constraction line.
Its funny how the Company sponsering him always has no relationship to the content of the video
I never got into Bionicle, (I was more into Hero Factory,) but it certainly looks amazing. I could never figure out how to effectively use the pieces, so I just didn't like them. (This is because I wasn't around for Bionicle itself, so I never got the sets for it.)
Lego unfortunately melts molds they don't use anymore.
This video rocked, amazing ideas. I hope they bring them back for the 25th anniversary!
I dont care a lot about bionicle personally but I am very interested in seeing more sets of it
Please im begging for this to be true.
System is not Bionicle.🎉😮
Exacly, if they don't want to make new molds, they should just stick to LEGO Technic bricks. Eventually, new ratchet joints from Ninjacho mechs for titans. Like in the two of four current LEGO Ideas projects, which proven that there is still hope for Technic-based Bonks in the future
WE NEED THIS.
I don't think Lego will ever produce plastic canisters again. They're even trying to replace the plastic bags inside their boxes with paper ones.
Which is ironic, given the fact that plastic canisters are far more useful as storage than those cardboard boxes. I will say that the metal canisters introduced in the third wave of constraction Knights Kingdom 2 sets were even better.
Hmmmm what if lego embraces catering to niches by giving like a mold a year and having it on standby via production by order
As much as I love Bionicle, I'm okay with saying goodbye. I would just be happy with a limited anniversary diorama of the Toa Mata/Nuva
I love that c418 track playing at 10:05, its so sad he doesn't really release anything anymore :(
Holy shit. That Mormon comment is feeling very real right now. I Just sold some classic in-box sets to someone who I'm pretty sure was a Mormon. Those guys are very well connected btw.
If they do system like the Ninjago mechs i hope they remember to make the oints moveable because i was so disappointed by the Cole/SOra mech non having moveable knees/elbows/hands
Mybuild has a series of mechs with 14 moveable joints and they cost less then the ninjago ones.
I don't really want a bionicle series with less flexibility than the original Nuva tbh.
there's a big problem, all the molds of the OG bionicle pieces, and CCBS system were destroyed long ago
they can still find a way to remold them
Metru nui lore when
2:24 Woah!
5:42 did that fish lover just wink at me..............................
Best waifu no doubt just be in your top 10 woooooooo
Honestly; actual Bionicle minifigs would be cool af
Sokoda tried it in his LEGO Ideas diorama and LEGO rejected that idea. That's why now, other fans are trying witch Technic-built Bonks instead. Will it succeed? We shall see when any of them will have 10k votes, but we need more MOCs. Only 4 Bionicle MOCs on LEGO Ideas is not enough
I'd love the final idea with some updated G1 sets.
i had some bionicles and hero factory when i was younger they were cool i would like to see them return, i also have a question is bakugan also discontinued now?
[Bionicle is rumored to be coming back in 2025]
Lego: "Best I can do is Lego Horizon sets."
