This truck is by far the best midsize on the market from a mechanic POV. Let ask you fellas this, do you wanna be changing a turbo at 120k miles with all the exhaust studs are rusted out? Nah not me atleast(if a turbo fails really bad it could send metal shavings in the intercooler and potentially in the engine, not cool and very expensive) Boxed frame, very simple and it is an overkill transmission in it since it shares it with the bigger titan. Love that it comes in so many cool colors as well. Nissan made what Toyota should have, simple as that. Tips if you’re looking to buy ones of these brand new: 1. You can get up to 5-6k off MSRP, just be patient. 2. It’s direct injected like everything these days so install a market catch can on it to prevent carbon build up. Check out Z1offroad. 3. The aftermarket is really starting to to lean on this truck so many people and companies will be making cool stuff for it. 4. Undercoat the frame if you live in a rust belt state. I have a feeling these truck will hold their value like the 1st gen Tacomas in decades to come. Pay that $500 for a good oil based undercoating and you can potentially resell your truck for double what it would be worth 15 years from now.
My only hesitation is the parts availability down the road and the cost of those parts. The tacoma with the cult following helps and allows for plenty of parts on the market. I can look past the turbo as turbo has been around for decades, but I know, those with turbos likely never held onto their cars longer than 100k miles, look at racers and sports cars that always need a rebuild. TacomaBeast on UA-cam showed that the Taco interior is very cheap plastic, created with multiple pieces for a single small item. The plastic reminds me of Scion interior and 2008 Honda Civics. In the end, it comes down to cost. Tomi on Delivrd can get the Taco for 10%-12% off consistently. If 5k off here is possible, then it's very attractive.

@@ultimatesteve First off they are horribly uncomfortable and cramped. But that may just be me. We've had several transmissions go out now, the ball joints and tie rod ends wear out, unlike our half ton and 3/4 ton trucks which seem to never have balljoint or tie rod problems. Coolant reservoirs crack and leak, coolant hoses at the heater core connections crack and leak, and there is a plastic coolant passage at the back of the engine that cracks and leaks. The only way to get to it is to pull the transmission. Now to be fair, we haven't had any problems with the actual engines themselves. All our trucks are the 4 cylinders. But these problems have all been at or before 100k miles. Needless to say they stopped getting the Colorados and just stayed with the bigger trucks. The trucks were not used for towing or carrying a lot of heavy equipment, we have 1 tons and bigger for that. They were used by field reps, so basically used as passenger cars. Beyond that, I've heard of the engines that have dual timing chains wearing out every 40k-60k miles. I can't recall which engine.
No wheel well protection. What the hell is that all about. That is no way to cheap out Nissan. Everything from sand to rocks to salt and snow will pass right under the wheel well to the underside of the vehicles. Pathetic cost saving measure!
Nissans lines are nice, the six cylinder most likely reliable, but the interior is just God awful ugly and dated... not to mention the heavy steering, larger turn radius, and the fact they look like small trucks
Sure, they literally had to merge with Honda to stay afloat, but by all means.. they're reliable. The interior of this truck feels and sounds like it was made in a poorly rated chinese sweat shop. That is more than likely because it was.
Every thing made in China dude. Also the death of Nissan as a standalone company was their sedans and small suvs. Poorly rated jatco CVT transmissions for a decade killed them.
People should really learn how to use their search engine. Google the other brands of mid-size trucks to see how ugly it can really be with Ranger, Colorado, Tacoma, Canyon - even Ridgeline and Maverick and Bronco. The list of MAJOR problems they have make the tiny list of Frontier TSBs for the their much overblown 'electrical' problems look like Heaven. No catastrophic failures just screen glitches that have been mostly worked out.

Sketch monkey lives in Morrison.
No wheel well protection. What the hell is that all about. That is no way to cheap out Nissan. Everything from sand to rocks to salt and snow will pass right under the wheel well to the underside of the vehicles. Pathetic cost saving measure!
Screw the technology. Base simple vehicle gas powered. What is all this hype going electric? There is plenty of resources available to run on gas. SMH
Nissans lines are nice, the six cylinder most likely reliable, but the interior is just God awful ugly and dated... not to mention the heavy steering, larger turn radius, and the fact they look like small trucks
Now if I can get a Pro4X without the damn touch screen I'd go buy one today.
They have every button you need without using the touchscreen. Old school with me tech.

Not everyone wants to pay 40 grands just to live in a cave
@@bccal5982 Did I say everyone? I'm simply saying it should be an option.
Not everyone wants to pay $60k+ to have it sit at the dealership for recalls and warranty work either.
or get low mileage used toyota tundra or tacoma
On Chanel Sarah-n-tuned she took uphill in terrain and IT DIDN'T WORKED WELL!!!! 😡😤☹️
She didn't know how to use the controls to shut off the "robots". Or fully how to use the 4x4 and locker. She admitted this.
Driver error there, does not have off road modes like other trucks to make it easy
In all fairness, Sarah is not an offroading genius nor does she have any previous experience in that field. She's nice but a newbie.
@@ruffriding2k2Either off road or on road...what else do you need. All those other modes just put you in a false sense of security.
If i wanted a crappy truck I'd buy a Ford.
Yeah we know logical thinking isn't your strong suit.
Your ignorance is showing. Have you driven or owned every truck and every trim package? They're all different. What makes this truck "crappy"?
Says the one who drives a Hyundai Accent.
Yup, you must be a crappy person to want a crappy Ford. Lol. By the way, some Ford trucks are crappy. Lol.
Lol why do people say stuff like this and don’t have a clue what they’re talking about!?
Same ancient chasis. This is a rebody like like 400Z is. Nissan will be bankrupt in 10 months per Nissan itself.
The chassis is good, but I agree it could be improved for more payload and towing.
Body on frame if you want something else why not drive a mom car like the ridge line
Bankrupt? You mean like GM twice and Chrysler so many times we've lost track? I'll take that bet!
This got the worst quality award. Why would you wanna buy this truck?
When you said Nissan you lost me.
But you clicked on a video title with the word Nissan in it. You people are so incredibly stupid sometimes, it’s genuinely astounding lol.
@@imcrux6583 Temper….temper! It’s the holidays, show some good cheer bro.
@@MrBigBoy4Life ironic thing to say isnt it?
There are too many electrical problems with this truck. No thank you.
Where have you heard that?
People should really learn how to use their search engine. Google the other brands of mid-size trucks to see how ugly it can really be with Ranger, Colorado, Tacoma, Canyon - even Ridgeline and Maverick and Bronco. The list of MAJOR problems they have make the tiny list of Frontier TSBs for the their much overblown 'electrical' problems look like Heaven. No catastrophic failures just screen glitches that have been mostly worked out.
@ I have been experiencing it for 5 months.
@@kerplunk38880sorry to read this. What are the problems I got my 24 frontier about 6 months ago ?
I've had no electrical problems whatsoever.
