one of my closest friends was depressed for a very long time. she was cutting herself almost every night. i was the only one to know. i cried almost every night because i was so scared for her. i did everything i could to help her, but it became to hard. i had to tell someone even though she would probably never talk to me again. i told someone that could help her, and she got really mad. i knew that loosing a friend was better than loosing a life that i could save. we didn’t talk for a very long time. she sent me this song and said thank you and now i can’t stop listening to it. every time i cry and it reminds me of her. we’re not that close now but i think she is doing a lot better. this song has made us realize how much we impacted each other’s lives. i hope she stays happy for a very long time. thank you ben platt.

My mother committed suicide the year before I graduated. Besides her, I was the only member of our family to leave high school with a diploma and I was able to do that because even though she wasn't able to hold on long enough to see me walk that stage, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that she had always wanted to see me do it.

This might be my favorite song in his album so far. There are a lot of amazing contenders, but I absolutely adore this one!

My favourite part is that Ben understands life is a fickle thing and that we never know how long we truly have to tell someone how much we love them, so here he is putting everything he can into his song to do just that. Gosh. It takes a lot for a song to make me emotional, thank you Ben. I am teaching myself to write songs, and hearing other peoples words, feeling yours, it makes me all the more determined to find the right words xoxo
The music on this album has meant so much to my girlfriend and I these past 2 months. I cannot express how incredible I find this music, both in an artistic way and in an emotional way. I've never resonated with music so much in my life. Ben's voice gives me peace. I have a feeling I am going to cherish this album for a very long time-- my only question is WHICH one will be our wedding song ☺💕
Okay but this song was written for his uncle who was a big part of his life (introduced him to the lgbtq+ community, huge support), but I like that it could honestly be for anyone. It could be for a lover if you don’t know the background.
