Is there a way to map to the 45 or 33 button? I have a buddy that never makes use of those (always uses 33) and occasionally hits the 45 button my mistake. Mapping to that button would help a lot.
This single video answered EVERYTHING i needed! I'm a vinyl club dj from the 90s/00s in the golden era, currently on Traktor but this controller has my heart in a grip. I'm a classic mixologist type, long smooth transitions, not much trickery or scratching. Is the Rev 7 for me!? YES OR NO!?
I must be missing something. When I had previous Pioneer controllers, I was able to use SHIFT-Cue to reset wherever my track has pasued/stopped at back to the beginning. This does not seem to do this. I might as well "hyperscrub" back to the beginning. I think I understand the purpose of a temp cue, especially when I do not have a cue point and I want to snap back to the beginning quickly. I am really missing that SHIFT-Cue; I don't suppose that this is possible on the REV7? Thanks.
Could you please explain how I get the Smooth Echo to work with the Silent Cue? No matter what I do or how I try I’m unable to get the Silent Cue to trigger the smooth echo. Before you ask, yes, I have it enabled in the utilities settings.
I’m not sure why you would want to do this with moving platters? Aren’t you going to train wreck every time while the platter spins up to full speed? I guess by repeatedly pressing it your end up finding how much earlier you need to press it, but I’d rather just use the platter. Does the re7 have gate cue instead? If so that would be better for this kind of thing.
Aloha PJ. How can I get my hands on the XMP computer? I watched your video about that computer awhile ago and I definitely want one but you said it’s not being offered in the US.
I have one issue. The fast rewind method when using shift and back spinning. When doing so it doesn't rewind to the beginning of the song. It rewinds waaaay past that and it's a big gap before you can get to the beginning so then you have to hit shift and fast forward then it goes to far into the song. It seems easier to just redrop the song on the deck instead. This needs to be fixed.
The problem with that is that the 33 and 45 buttons have a hardware function, which is to change the speed of the motor. And they also have existing shift functions to toggle the display. Hardware functions are part of the firmware and cannot be removed. It’s like mapping the EQ knobs. Sure MIDI is possible but they will still and always function as EQ knobs.
@@priyonjoni so if I set the cue on 33 I shouldn't have expected that the hardware will keep my speed constant on 33 . at which point should I cue close to play?
@@priyonjoni I have ghost cue points on my tracks, so the 1st cue point is at the very end of each track. Each time I load a track the platter stops. I would use the silent cue feature but you have to set it each time you load a new track.
While in the LOOP mode, how do you fix the loop with the IN and OUT buttons when the loop is off beat ? I tried using the shift button while spinning the jog wheel back and forth and that didn't work. I also tried to use the plus and minus button on the pitch bend and that didn't work.............
Okay this might be a dumb question but coming from strictly controllers, how do you listen to the other track you have cued up? Does the mapping of your cue button achieve this as well (with the fader down) or is there some other method native to a turntable-like setup as this ?
Great tip! Thank you, any chance we can midi map “beat jump”? I’m sad pioneer didn’t have a dedicated button for this as I use it a lot. I’m thinking I can use the key buttons to midi map as I never change the key of the song.
This something I need like some Dj's here played like this both times cause how can someone off beat on deck one and blend it to deck 2 that mix i real need someone to teach me
Shipments started in February. They have been available for order since January. Due to global microchip shortage and global shipment delays, items have been arriving longer than usual.
Should we try mapping to a different button? Let us know below where you would place the CUE!

45 button !
I'm a vdj user so I midi mapped the slip button as my cue/stop button. Works great.

Yes!
@naelbeno6249 using it right now!!!!
Hyper-scrub is my new goto insult. Thanks PYJ!
Haha 🤣
I mapped my Temp Cue to Octive Key -/+ control, I never really bring the key up and down so this button was the best re-map for me.
Your video was so helpful and insightful! Thanks for your knowledge and posting this topic!
Why do my decks have a start lag?
What about if I would like to set a lot of cue on a songs and I usually skip the first cue on the songs depending on the songs vibes ?

Brooo! Such a useful tip! Thank you!
I wanna try this. But how do I get temp cue to work like demonstrated, but for hot cues?

Is it possible to go on Decks 3 or 4 on the REV7, like you can with the REV1?
Hell yeah, thank you. I haven’t received my Rev 7 yet but this was one of my was one of concerns.

Is there anyway to keep the Rev-7 platter from stopping at the end of the tracks?
Have you tried setting Serato to auto play?

why can't I use Serato effects on the ddj rev7
You can Serato effects on the REV7.

It actually requires stopping the platter. The reason is because a moving platter when adjusting the in and out would disrupt any precision.

The “cue button” mentioned here has nothing to do with the headphone cue function.

How would I do this in Virtual DJ?

Great video, why don't the makers of the equipment do some helpful videos. It would be so hard for me without your videos.
add a foot controller so you can map a footswitch to shift and you might be on to something here.
Anyone know how to do it on REKORDBOX? I need help 😢

Map cue stop to silent cue.
I wish I woulda waited on my rane one purchase
