The total weight allowed on the Jimny roof stated by Suzuki is 30kg. Even if the roof carrier can take a 100kg load, the roof allows 30kg only including the weight of the roof carrier. Do your research before posting such videos. Roof carrier looks good and has great utility, but lighter roof rails have to be used.
Hi. I appreciate your reply as well as the concern. But the 100 kg capacity as referred in the video is the total load carrying capacity of the roof rack carrier. Having said this, nowhere in the video has it been suggested to drive with full 100 kg on the top of the vehicle. Further, the 30kg capacity, as mentioned by you refers to the dynamic loading which is for when you’re driving along as it moves the cars centre of gravity up, can make it unstable and feel very vague to drive. The roof can hold a lot more weight (it can hold the weight of the car if you flipped over).
