Always learned something from listening to NBA games where Hubie Brown was the analyst. Loved hearing his unbiased, pure basketball knowledge during games. Sad to see him go but he deserves to live on his own terms at his age.

My dad was good friends w Hubie in the 60s whrn they played sports together with a great group of guys. I met Hubie once w my dad when I was little and after we lost touch. About five years ago My son became a big Nba fan and I decided to write hubie a letter asking him if he remembered my dad. I never expected an answer but much to my delight my son and i got a call from him and we spoke for an hour about my dad the nba sports and life. He was so gracious and kind to us imparting a lot of wisdom. 🎉

My goodness.. what he has endured this year... my sincerest condolences Coach Brown! I've thoroughly enjoyed you on the broadcasts all these years. I've always tried to spread the word that if you ever want to learn about the game of basketball and all the intricacies of the game.. to just tune in to a Hubie Brown called game, and you will learn all kinds of things in a way that can be grasped by people of all walks and ages. He broke the game down like no other. He took time to highlight aspects that often times flew under the radar. While most broadcasters focused on the glitz and glamour of the game, Coach Brown always took time to highlight and give credit to the unsung heroes.. the ones doing the little things that may or may not get enough attention. Your footprint in the game I love will be everlasting Coach. I hope you receive an abundance of blessings and enjoy this much deserved retirement. Bless you and thank you for everything! ❤

I have always loved hearing Hubie Brown on the mic, such a cool dude. My favorite call of his was such a simple one, when Kobe catches the inbounds on that game winner vs the Suns: "Aite, we're gonna get a shot here..." I don't know why, he just always sounded so cool saying that "aite" 😄

Nobody was a better color commentator for NBA games. Despite his advanced age he never slowed down or missrd a beat on commentary. The game has changed so much but he's kept up.
I listen to some of the dimwit commentary we get treated to on telecasts today and like most things in this world it's a dumbed down version of what used to be. It'll be a treat to hear him call a game again
