I really appreciate your touring style; backroads at slower speeds so you can actually take in the scenery. I'm the same way although it is tougher to do on this side of the pond as we just don't have those kind of roads (I'm in southwest Idaho) - they'd be bicycle paths. I picked up an NX500 a couple of months ago. You can have any color you want as longs as it's black. There are almost no accessories available over here. Would you be able (willing) to share a list of what you've installed? I'm particularly interested in a throttle lock. I tried installing an Atlas type but there just isn't enough clearance between the grip and the switchgear. Thanks again for sharing an amazing ride.
I spent some wonderful family holidays on the north Norfolk coast with my ex wife and two young boys enjoying Holkem beach and the Victoria pub on the corner to the estates entrance. Happier days back then.
Brought back some very happy memories there Mr Fish, having stayed in the same B&B a few years ago, a brilliant place and the pub across the village Green served a real hearty evening meal as well. Looking forward to seeing the rest of your adventure. 👍
See you’ve been near to Patrick Brompton, Reeth and over The Stang. All a stones throw from my house. Great roads. The cafe at 13:58 is a good one. The buttertubs is worth a ride for the view.
wow, Holkam hall, I spent beautiful summer 2006 in Norwich, and we were travelling around by trains, buses and by foot and I remember those huge meadows around the house and swimming in the cold waters of that beach. I have just bought a Honda 500(but not NX but CL500) and I would like to visit on this bike those places where I have appeared in my life.
Love it, what a great video. Scenery is just beautiful, but most of all i love your enthusiasm and excitement for the trip. Can't wait for the next episode.
Spend most of my holidays growing up on north Norfolk coast. Random snippet of information. The first bowler hats were created for the gamekeepers of the Holkham estate to protect their heads from low hanging branches whilst on horseback.
I wouldn't know how to hob-nob with the gentry, but you seemed to be right at home swanning around the estate, and on top of that, you are now going to invade my home country. PS, great channel though, keep em coming.
Following your glowing reports on this bike i arranged to have a demo at Blackpool Honda. Being tall overweight and in my seventies I'm afraid i just couldn't get on it. The sales guy showed me the horse mounting technique but all to no avail. I'll need to stick with bikes having a bench seat, obviously.
The further up you come we will hear you say imagine this scene on a nice sunny 🌞 day lol ,it’s not Scotland 🏴 if it’s not raining or your eating bye bugs mr fish 🫶
great video. did you manage the 267 miles on one tank of fuel. what was your average miles per gallon. just brought a cb500x 23 model. can't wait for the next video. 👍👍👍👍👍
Been looking forward to watching this series of your adventure and looking forward to seeing the rest 👌👌👌 Ride safe 🤞🤞🤞 Did you use Calimoto for your ride on your phone navigation ? 🤔
Nice, but you're not quite Itchyboots yet. A map to show your route would be nice. Too much just riding along. But, decent filming and good sound and choice of music. Keep at it and I might subscribe! Talk a little about the bike, tires, baggage solution. People like to understand how you are equipped.
Thanks for the tips! Lol I have no intentions of being someone else .. there will be maps and bits on the bike accessories .. (already is on my channel) but you don’t subscribe so you wouldn’t know . A little bit negative in your comment but I’m hopeful that’s just how it comes across .. 😂 ..
I've been waiting for this one for a while... Didn't watch it yet, I am as I'm typing this. How are you liking the bike on a longer journey? Thinking of getting one after few years on africa twin...
Currently have a2022 650 Vstrom.I sold my Africa Twin.Too big for a 65 year old weakling.Doing a 6000 mile trip in January to the desert southwest of America.
For your viewers 20/36 ashgill force well worth the 5 min walk, love these roads very lucky to be local.enjoy your trip nice video,I also agree a map would be nice.
I don't mind this weather 1 bit. I much prefer overcast skies and a slight drizzle over high heat and humidity. Besides, it's what keeps everything so green. Or perhaps it's just a reflection of my personality... dark and gloomy.
Excellent trip so far, the roads are awesome there.
Brill stuff John, this looks like it is going to be quite an adventure 🙂
Adventures are the best!
I think you’re better half has your back take good care of her Mr fish

The throttle lock thing was just a cheap one from Amazon I’ve have for years .. what else would you like to know

Glad it’s consistent, the pub was sadly shot for refurbishment but the one in the the next village was also good
Thanks for the run through Holkham… stunning. A prime chunk of British Palladian architecture.👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Brilliant Mr Fish 👍👍
NX500 is a great choice.
That’s why I have it lol
Enjoy the trip some spectacular roads to come.

You live in a very nice area ..

It definitely gets better the further north you go our trip started when we got on to the A68 and crossed the border great film .

I liked that info cheers
It would be great if you can put a map of your trip stages. But anyway, still enjoying it !
I’ll see what I can do for the rest of the, thanks for the feed back

I find it ok .. not perfect a bit small but if we all got the same thing it would be boring .. have you tried the cl500 , has a bench seat
Brilliant even when raining. Probably a good bike to upgrade from my 2019 cb500x worth it in your opinion ?
I think so but it’s your decision, go and ride one would be my advice

Ha ha , the rain adds to the mystery

No , I filled at any station once over 100 miles most days to stretch the legs and I like a full tank .. average 77.5 mpg
How did you find comfort on the 500?? I’m 6’2 same as you.
I have a cool cover and found it not bad at all ..
Why are long rides so nice? Because it feels so good when you stop...... :^). (I ain't wrong! LOL )
And learn to walk again
Been looking forward to watching this series of your adventure and looking forward to seeing the rest 👌👌👌

Did you use Calimoto for your ride on your phone navigation ? 🤔
Thanks , yes I used Cali the whole way (no motorway for about 10% and winding for the rest)
Cambria? I wonder if that's where my kitchen countertop came from?
Cumbria 😂

I love it , not as plush as the twin and not a lot of off road capacity but for chilled out touring it’s great
guess I'll have to try it out then. Thanks for the reply! Keep doing what you're doing, it brings joy to people 👍
Thanks
Does this feel quick enough for motorway speeds and stuff
Yes but why would you want to go on a motorway with a 500 😂
Done motorways on mine, no problem.
👍
Do you miss the Africa Twin or do you feel the NX 500 is enough for road trips??
@@dalemoyer-k9z its enough if you don’t want to get anywhere fast ( motorways etc ) or go off road , it’s a very chilled out bike
