  • In this video I'll take a first look at Muse Animate (release 0.2.5) which promises to generate humanoid animations from simple prompts like "walk forward". I'll give my first impression of this tool, what works well, what doesn't, and we'll walk through a bunch of prompts together to see how they work and even how you can modify the animations right there in the Muse Animate tool!
    👨‍💻 Unusually this does not have a repository since it's all done in the Unity Muse Animate tool.

    Cool to see it is "kinda" working. My expectations for that were way worst xD

      I was surprised at how well a lot of the stuff worked. Honestly expected a lot more jank 🙂

    This is still great for a programmer like me. Prototyping will get so much easier!

    I tried the two week trial. Mostly the programming part, it worked great! Very impressed with muse. I have another AI programming asset from the unity store, but muse seems to be much better in understanding what i mean. As I have the challenge of not being native English it sometimes can be harder to describe what you mean, but Muse seems to have quite a broad understanding and otherwise if I just explain it in text after the first attempt, it will understand and adjust the code properly.

    It honestly seems like there's not enough variety in the training data yet, which is why it gives you the closest it can find which may or may not be actually similar.
    Did they say anything for the testing? Like what kind of feedback they're looking for at this point? Or what limitations this kind of early version has?

    • @LlamAcademy
      @LlamAcademy  3 місяці тому +1

      Yup! The limited dataset is the biggest known limitation internally and is something they’re working on.
      I assume all feedback is welcome. I was asked to provide prompts that didn’t work as expected so they could get real user prompts and see if that’s not supported or if there’s some issue with the model.

    tranforming existing animations to different avatars would help a lot, and adequate.

    I have to thank MIXAMO for their support, but this system may even surpass MIXAMO.
    If the output data can be used even after the seat license expires, it may be interesting to purchase a seat for a temporary period.

      I hope it will. A lot of the animations look similar to Mixamo right now. Going forward it will be great to see more diversity. The easy editing of the generated animations is 💪

    Seems like most of the dataset must be vaulting animations haha

    if it can edit animations (imported mocap) I'll be happy.

    Interestingly - the 'do a backflip' prompt which was in the original Unity Muse showcase video did not work for me

    Not worth the money. Very few variety of animations. The final product is not useable you will need to fix the animation in blender or maya.

    30$ is not for unlimited use of entire "Muse", you get 3000 credits per 30$ per seat per month so for solo developers it is 30$ for 3000 credits and you need to burn whole 100 credits on only 1 message on unity chat. For me it is definition of scam. I don't know if you knew about "credits" when you made this video 3 weeks ago, but if you knew then you hide the most important part of unity scam and it is not cool.

    • @LlamAcademy
      @LlamAcademy  2 місяці тому

      Thanks for pointing this out. I didn't know about the Muse Credits until dug deeper with your comment here. It is not apparent on the checkout page. For prerelease Muse packages, using up all your credits does not prohibit you from generating more. I'll give the feedback to Unity that should be more clear on checkout page and on the Muse Animate webapp so we can see our remaining credits and usages per generation. As you can see in this video there's no mention of it, but that may be because it's prerelease and they don't come into the picture yet.

    Yeee, all of your animation is avesome - but tell me now, if you need to pay for that generated animation, how much you you need to pay? 100$, 200$, 500$ ? Because unity pricing in "Credits" kill everything what is in this "Muse".
