- In this Scratch tutorial, I show how to add block placing into the Tile Scrolling game! I also add particles, a lighting vignette effect, and tile dependencies.

I was able to add a "flowwater" block that allowed special blocks to preform actions. Such as: water and other liquids flow down, and a "sapling" block spawns a tree.

Btw things i added that you don't have are:
Main Menu
Settings - set music volume
Crafting pickaxes with materials ( Wood pick = 3 wood and 5 long grass,Stone pick = 1 wood and 2 stone...) I deleted it later couse it was buggy and i couldn't fix it.
I will try again :)
Health bar - Lose hp when hunger bar is 0
Hunger bar - Lose over time
Health bar and Hunger bar i coded so it does exatly (spelling worse than you spelling paarttikclie XD) like in minecraft (ex. Ig you have 18+ hunger points you regenerate health,0 hunger lose half a heart every 4 sec,3 or less you walk slower...)
Costimize inventory look
Changed some stuff like (43 spacing slots to 28 spacing slots,with letters set to letterX to letterX-8,
Made Letters 4 times bigger but set size to 50%...)

Scratch Addons have an option to differentiate for this sprite only variables, so you don't need to use underscores.
Yeah, I just like naming them with underscores xD
For the particles that spawn at the player's feet, I put and if InAir = 0 around the custom block so the particles don't appear when I turn In the air.

when you go out of bounds on the left side of the grid it repeats.
Yup, that's why you need to limit the camera to the bounds of the level! :D
Great tutorial series but I have a bug with the block placing. when space key pressed the block doesn't place and the item is still in the inventory :(. (already finished Block Placing Bugs + Fixes but still have the bug)
Hmm, it's hard to know the issue without seeing your code, but are you sure you copied everything correctly?

I'm doing like a thing so you can buy pickaxes with materials in the inventory like
Wood pick = 3 wood and 5 long grass
...
When you buy it but u don't have enough materials you can't buy it but if you have all the materials you can buy and that works fine but the problem hwo i have is when you buy it you need to lose materials like for wood pick when you buy it you need to lose those materials for it.
Like if you have:
Ex.
8 wood 5 grass
And you buy a wooden pick
You need to lose 3 wood and 5 grass
And in the inventory it needs to have 5 wood and 0 grass.
Can you please help me with that? 😢
You'd need to use the remove item message and remove the amount of a certain item id from the inventory.
Example:
1. You craft a torch that takes 2 wood and 1 coal.
2. Make sure you have enough materials to make the torch.
3. Set the variable remove item id to the id of wood, then use the remove item id broadcast twice to remove the wood.
4. Set the variable remove item id to the id of coal, then use the remove item id broadcast to remove the coal.

I have unfortunately been having trouble getting this to work I have no idea what I did wrong, I’ve been working on it for a few hours now, and I cannot even get the item delete system working. Are there any tips that anyone thinks could make this easier? Please reply tnx.

I’m confused - When I place a tile instead of removing a tile it gives a block of the next slot up (and giving a ? tile if the next one is empty)
Pls help I am horrible at fixing bugs and I don’t want to have to go though the entire video again to find one spot where I messed up

how to make it not lag when placing block?
In "Selector" sprite go to PlaceTile: ItemID: block. The last block in the script = instead of doing "broadcast Refresh Tiles and wait" do "Broadcast Refresh tiles" only.
