Hello guys and gals, it's me Mutahar again! In my excitement for new processor architecture I decided to pony up the largest premium on an experiment I almost envisioned going terribly when I attempted to game on the new M1 Max processors from Apple. To be fair the results are impressive when you consider the software wizardry going on under the hood. Thanks for watching!

Yeah but, Mac isnt even made for gaming.
@Aroko 76 I own M1 MBP and disappointed how Apple made Mac OS. 32-bit support removed, and Rosetta performance is still bad till now

Thats a common occurence. My pc runs red dead 2 and gta 5 (at max) at 60 fps at least but gta trilogy has insane stuttering for me.
@@bcanimacoes6280 that’s so fucked up. I really feel like Rockstar messed up with this trilogy remaster, there was so much potential to release a good remaster and the foundation of the games are already there. Honestly, the amount of effort you have to go through just to play more than a handful of games just sounds absolutely dreadful, especially for the price. Maybe in 5 years it'll have some parity with Windows for Gaming, but right now I wouldn't touch Mac with a 10 foot pole if gaming was my main objective. For everything else though, the new macs are super impressive, so it'll be interesting to see where that goes.
Yeah
I would do that too...
If I couldn't just get almost the complete same for even less then a 1/5 of that price lul
Better off with Linux, far more games (about %70-80 of Windows games work now), wait a few months and you'll be able to install Linux on the new Macbooks also (its already semi working)

M1 chips are some of the best on the market, an M1 Mac Mini can be picked up for £500 which is ridiculous value. Shame Apple would rather keep their expertise in production, they could easily make the new Macs more gaming friendly and show off how good the new M chips are.

Comparing ARM/RISC to x86 is dumb.
The applications do not run natively on the hardware, and you're running an emulated version.
That alone would eat some threads up.
If anything, the only thing that Apple would end up winning is a laptop that can last for a week without a charge, but change run STEAM on Wine natively.

They can't make them gaming friendly. They are using a completely different architecture that neither consoles or PCs use (except the Nintendo Switch). I want to replace my gaming laptop (i7 1050Ti) with a M1 laptop. I don’t really need a gaming laptop anymore since I got an 8 core AMD w/ 3070. I’ve been eyeing the M1 computers from Apple for a few months and most likely will go down this route. It’s nice to see it handles emulation just fine since that’s usually the kind of gaming I would definitely do on it. Looks like a decent 16” M1 Mac is probably gonna be $3,000 since I prefer a bigger screen. Can’t wait now to see what I can get it to do.

I’m a Mac user and this is an extremely good video on the limitations of Mac when it comes to gaming.
this is exactly a chicken egg problem
the developer won't put effort into recompiling their game with apple's Metal graphic API because there's no one buying their game on mac so no ROI in the investment.
On the other hand, people don't buy Macs for gaming, because of no game there.
They don’t allow COD Mobile on laptop because it makes a skill difference.

Do you have the smallest idea how a youtube channel with 3 million subscribers, is own merch, paid sponsors, patreon accounts, etc etc, can make, every single month ?
There is a youtuber I follow, the guy plays a few games on twitch(les than 50-100 users watch it live) , and he posts the videos on UA-cam. He has less than 7'000 subscribers on youtube. 9 months ago, he left his $2500 job, and a few months ago, he purchased a gigantic house. I let you imagine...
Now, if a guy that streams video games once or twice a week, with barely 7'000 youtube subs, can do ALL THAT,
can you take 2 seconds, and try to imagine how much a channel with 3 million subs can make.
You know, those sponsors, like manscape...VPN... etc... those contacts, aren't just $500 a month.... no, those contacts can easily cost 5k...10k...15'000...
there is that fat gay dude, that eats like a pig.. something avocado... the guy has 2 million subs on youtube, a patreon account, sells stupid ugly t-shirts, for 40 bucks each... the guy just bought a penthouse, at the 50 or 60th floor, for...2.1 millions $ !
Yes, man, that's no joke... people are making insane amounts of cash, with youtube. But they always pretend they barely make enough cash to buy some food... until the day they drop the veil, and announce they are moving to the new gigantic house they just acquired..! That is worth several millions...
So the next time you watch a youtuber, with 1 or 2 million subs, almost crying, and begging for your help, because the bad boys from youtube have demonetized 2 or 3 videos, and he's very worried and concerned about his future... try to remember , that youtuber, is probably making 100 or $150'000 a month, and is worried and panicking, because that month, we will only make $148'000, instead of $150'000. Poor guy, he truly needs your help ! Life is so tough! How can a person even live, with only $150'000 a month... life is so cruel ...!
So, when you are making those insane amounts of cash, you tend to buy what is the most expensive... because expensive = quality, right....
Because if you can say you have a computer with 16, 32 or 64 cores, tons of ram, ultra fast m.2 drives, powerful rtx3090 cards, most people won't know how powerful that system is... but if you say 'I have a mac', wow, suddenly, you look like the most important and most intelligent person of the entire city !
It's like the people who pay $10 for a coffee at Starbucks, the same coffee that costs $1 everywhere else. You are showing your status.
And because you can't just walk with tens of $ over your head, for people to look at you... buy buying something expensive, you show how much you have (or are supposed to have..)
120hz? more like 144hz wth HDR and blur reduction. lol
The thing is though is that the performance between the $2k MacBook Pro and $5k MacBook Pro like you got is barely different, so in reality the experience you showed is capable on the baseline MacBook Pro, you didn’t have to pay $5k for that
Futahar hitting us with once another banger!
I imagine emulation on Rosetta 2 would be faster than emulation from within a hypervisor with Windows ARM. Rosetta 2 is apparently tuned specifically for the intricacies of the Apple M1 chip when translating x86_64 instructions to ARM while Microsoft's emulator just translates x86_64 to ARM.
Bruh, Raycons are plastic trash. DO NOT BUY THEM. Just do a little bit of research and you can find much much higher quality audio for the $50 price tag
Gotta pay taxes somehow. Also you can get the sponsorblock add-on to avoid sponsors or flag them for other users.
Developers have enough to do without having to write code for a specific CPU. There is already an extreme amount of complexity even if you ignore the M1. This is why there are international standards and Apple have done their best to ignore those standards. Could be why developers are ignoring Apple.
Arm has been around since the 1980s, I guarantee you a lot of software manufacturers could take some time out of thier huge development teams, and code for arm.
you should consider testing Ampere Altra as well. It's using ARM Neoverse core and actually matches thread vs thread with x86, at least that's what Phoronix manages to gather
Love your computer desk

That might be controversial indeed, I don't understand any of what you said though

2k base model is good enough for most these things, if you don't know whether you need a max you probably don't need it, not talking about gaming.
The problem besides coding games to ARM is that they want to keep using Metal as their graphics API. If they would at least implement OpenGL or Vulkan, we could see more native support on their computers

Muta: everything
Ive been compiling lots if apps on my m1 mac and its way faster than my gaming pc like i can compile the godot game engine in like 5 minutes
And for intel only apps like obs I actually compiled for m1 so now it runs 10x faster
How does my 12:36?
I have to admit it, recently bought an M1 Mac Mini and on an even crazier note... *_I'm enjoying it._*
Ok mutahar idk about you but when I'm doing work on my pc I have speakers to listen to whatever I want I tought mist people do too. Lol nice ad tho
at 6:20, when mute was running crossover I knew he would do it!
ARM is amazing for efficiency, but what really sets the M1 family apart is the design. It's an integrated SOC, so memory bandiwdth is through the roof, and they broke away from the intel style of small fast cores and opted for CPU cores with far more transistors/ops that run at lower speeds (i believe 3.2GHz peak on M1). This allows them to stay towards the bottom of the efficiency curve, enjoying the full benefits of modern fab processes and their low power draw, but it comes at the cost of a larger processor that uses a lot more silicon, hence higher costs.
Wonder who the guy that makes sure he’s the first to dislike your video is. Hope the rest of his life is good to him so that he no longer feels the need to impede another’s happiness🙏🏼
Probably still does is and tells himself its even more personal now because only Muta can see it
Tbh, for 5k i can get a gaming pc build myself and get gamepass and then all of the premium software variants of what i might need and still have money in the pocket for games, all in all it's a neat idea but is it worth it? I have no clue...
