Mama BodaBoda

As we celebrate women achievements, we would like to introduce Mama Bodaboda, Palagie Niyukuri, a Congolese refugee in Kakuma refugee camp. She's an accomplished motorbike taxi rider. The 34 year old mother of six is earning an income on her terms and achieving equality in a male dominated field.

Your job is to take care of everyone. Everyone means every single person. There are employees of UNHCR in Kakuma, Kenya who are not taking care of every single person. I don’t know why you have taken LGBTQ+ refugees from one homophobic country to another homophobic country. That is not right. LGBTQ+ refugee from Uganda need to be evacuated to a safer place that is not homophobic. That is your job. Your job is to keep everyone safe, and I want to see that happen right now. Please do not hesitate to do the right thing.
