Thank you for posting. I'd like to add another fix if I may: - none of these worked for me (Dell 13 5378) but what did work is my Logitec Wired Mouse. - I plugged it in, it downloaded Its Own Drivers and suddenly my Touchpad started working again as well. Blessings.
Hello Viewers! First of all for step 2, search the name of your touchpad driver in start, and it's easy to go. Eg search synaptics in start, and then go to settings. Don't need to run appviz just go to programs and features from settings, or app properties from start, you're good to go for repair. 90% cases of this problem needs repair of touchpad controller application, so try to do it very firstly. Steps: 1. Search your touchpad's name or just touchpad in start. 2. App settings 3. Scroll down to repair 4. Restart the app 5. Change the settings to default or as per your need Thanks for making this video, I was going through the problem after purchasing a new laptop and also spent some money consulting online computer repairmen, but they didn't even get closer to it. They told me to go to recovery mode and all that, but it was a piece of rice, not a bowl of biryani. Thanks
I have another way to fix this problem. Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Mouse ( Devices and Printers tab). Choose Hardware tab -> Dell Touchpad -> Change settings (admin) -> Driver tab -> choose Roll Back Driver -> choose first line. Restart and enjoy it
Not working. It is evident that something happens between Step one and Step two, since when clicking on "mouse", the device setting option does not appear in the first part, which does appear in the second part, even when the route is the same. there is clearly an error there
This solved my problem : controlpannel -> Hardware and sound -> device printers -> device managers -> mice and other pointing devices -> synaptics other pointing devices -> driver -> rollback driver and then restart your PC.
Guys just roll back to the previous diver version(click driver in the same window as shown in the video), restart ur computer and reinstall the current driver and then restart ur computer .. that's it ur'all set.
Sadly no... :( My touchpad only moves when I use two fingers and henceforth the scroll is impossible. I even tried resetting the options in the settings. Nothing.

Okay, I've solved MY problem: on a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga my 2-finger scroll suddenly stopped working. It worked before. So my solution at the end was going into the Device Manager and deactivate "HID conform mouse". The other one "ThinkPad UltraNav" is still there. Now, both touchpad and built-in mouse are working! :)
@@brexnnqc Try to open the "Device Manager". If you got that, look for "mice and other pointing devices". There, I had two entries. One of them was the Lenovo one. Right click on the other one and select "deactivate".
If I can only find how to get to control panel I might be off to a good start. Why does this keep happening ? I havent changed any settings, but after awhile two finger scrolling just stops working.
