About the production:
This version of Peter Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" (a ballet in three acts with an epilogue) was choreographed by Vasily Vainonen after Marius Petipa on February 18th, 1934, based on the story by E. T. A. Hoffmann's Nussknacker und Mausekönig ("The Nutcracker and the Mouse King"). Widely considered a true classic and a staple of the Russian ballet repertoire.
