I'm not sure, but I know just what I'd use! Kevlar Line. It's about 1.5mm thick and it has tensile strengths ranging from 500 to 1000lbs.

Look… who is flying this guy? The operator should be doing a dance with the flyer knowing and matching his every move. It’s sounds like it was on a flying hoist. Although I have 3 q-hop hoists I still prefer a manual system for these moves as you can feel the flyer more and have more sensitivity of adjustment. If it’s a joystick controller it just takes more time learning how not to spool in TOO much to be able to land the flyer correctly. Teaching the flyer requires so much more than just having them run and take off for an orbit or a spin. It needs understanding of the center of mass and how to adjust that in the air to get the correct orientation required for the gag. When flying another performer, either the flyer or the operator needs to be very experienced to teach the other role correctly. This video seemed like both participants were trying to figure out what worked at the same time. Step 1… ALWAYS spike your plumb point from the pick so you know where to do a neutral take off from. For the “rising” gag the feet should have been ion the spike with the body behind it to rise to a standing position correctly. Hopefully you can continue to practice with a pro aerialists/flyer to get those skills down. Only then can you teach a new flyer correctly.
