Piano reading is sooo much more difficult than band music!

I have a question about the software... Does it has midi output or midi feedback for light up keys???

Piano Marvel does not use Midi Out so it will not send a signal to light up your keys. That would be an interesting feature to add.

so what is the point in trying to get 100% should we move forward if we score 80 percent?trying to get 100% will frustrate us.

They are designed to move on no matter what your score is. I start beginners even and they start off with 7% - 15% then move up quickly. It depends on the boot camp. The hymns made easy boot camp is good for beginners.

Where is the Boot Camps portion?

Here is a pretty clear video on how to do the Hymns Boot Camp. The other boot camps are the same. Right Now you can do Hal Leonard's Christmas Piano Solos, Popular Piano Solos, More Popular Piano Solos and The Classical Boot Camps. You find them by doing a search in the Library after logging in to Practice. Here is the video..

Are the boot camps always available?

    • @aarongarner580

The boot camps are always available and we are creating more. You can also create your own boot camps as well. We have not officially released this feature so there are no video tutorials on it yet but you are welcome to play around with it. You find it under the UPLOADS button at the Library search page.

You have to have a skillset of sight-reading techniques before you can successfully sight-read. This is not one of them.😐😐

I actually tested the hymns made easy boot camp on a lot of students who have never touched piano. At first, it feels you were dropped into a foreign country without knowing the language. Talk about a shocker, bit the human brain is designed to learn languages. Don't worry so much and just let the brain start to sort it out. You will be getting scores of 5% at first, then it will start creeping up to 11% then 20%. Give it 2 hours a day for 2 months and you will see a miracle take place.

@@aarongarner580 Well, as a victim of sight-reading schools, that constantly indoctrinate the learner with theory, harmony, rhythm clapping, rhythm playing, technique, etc., from childhood all the way up to the college level, I have not seen or known anyone that has really succeeded in sight-reading at all, that is to have the ability for someone to get a job as an accompaniest, work for a symphony, or not even in the musicians union here in Los Angeles. Coming out of school back in the 80s I tried to familiarize myself will all the new innovations including apps and using the sub-conscious as a way to learn this skill. They have never helped me. Well, sir, sight-reading is a skill. It is not something that can be found in the sub-conscious and no matter how much theory or technique is shoved in their minds, does not make a good sight-reader. It takes a skillset in order to successfully do it. I am working on that skillset. A sight-reading manual that I hope will come out soon showing the basic playing steps, rote playing of the keys. Learning the keyboard in a way never been investigated. A whole new world in sight-reading that will use vision and finger/hand/arm response, to play the correct key(s), on the correct beat, at the correct tempo, dynamics, and style of the music. The buzz word I will use that will unite all of this will be MUSCLE MEMORY. Has anyone else use this in teaching students of all ages to sight-read piano music?

Talking down to adults is probably not good idea.
Good information, but skip the infantilizing and try again, and maybe with a more professional reader.
