I found these boots to be very comfortable my only gripe is the quality inside the boots the stitching on the cortex is not covered so will wear and compromise the waterproofness.
This is in most boots of the type and is seldom a problem IME 😄 I suspect the sole will ware out before this- the weakness of the boots is the removable insole, which I replaced in mine 🤔 I bought another pair recently so I do rate them 👍🏻🏔️🌞🤔
We have put your review onto our Ice Warrior website. We have just started to stock these exact boot. We shall look out for more of your videos. All the very best from sunny Dartmoor.
I have these boots bought from Trailblazers in Pickering. Less than 8 months old and the soles fell off, they have also worn down on the sole to nearly nothing and the soles are holed in a couple of places. Very nice and comfortable to wear but having the sole fall off after 8 months is a total nightmare.
Legend! Thanks for replying so quickly! Managed to get a 6.5 (yay good walking socks), So I’m stoked. Strayed away from Aku’s….. and now I’ve got holes in the back of my ankles. Lesson learnt! 🙄
Hi Sheldon, fit is very subjective and as a rough guide I would say they are fairly wide with a shelving toe box and are about true to their European last size 🤔 enjoy your outdoors time, Andy 🏕️🌳🌀
Well. I am a civvy as you put it, and I already own a pair of military boots, some Altberg's, (I got for bushcraft in winter). Aku produce some well thought of military boots too, but they are built for a different job. These are light weight and fairly flexible, so great for long treks or easy walking, (though can be used for light mountain use). In addition, they are well lasted, unlike many military boots, (which new are often considerably more expensive). Surplace are cheeper, but are pre-worn and therefore unlikely to fit as well, (as they have already moulded to someones feet). So I will stick to the right boots for the job, but thanks for the input. Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy

Thanks for the review, even years later. I’m looking at the leather lined version.
I already got me a 2nd pair of these boots, my favourite ones when it comes to cross country, dog walking, allround boot. Very comfy and supporting.
Thanks for the feedback- they have proved very good for me so far, a real treat to use on the moors. Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy

Aku have now replaced them as they have confirmed they had a faulty Vibram unit 👍🏻
Hi! Any difference between men and women’s? I need to get hold of a second pair, as I’ve killed my first pair and the women’s in a 6….. are scarce!
As far as I remember, the gents are wider 🤔 but you won’t get a gents 6 ☺️ enjoy your outdoors time, Andy 🏔🌀
