BACK TO THE MANGUEIRA COMMUNITY (PART 57) RIO SOLIMOES

We are leaving the community of São Francisco da Mangueira - Amazonas towards another nearby riverside community to buy groceries, called Tamaniquá, which belongs to the municipality of Juruá, on the banks of the Solimões River. There we find Ramilda Barrinha's wife who does missionary work in the region. We passed the floating 11 de Maio do Seu Ribeiro, a kind of floating market on the banks of the river. On the way back we saw a canoe adrift with engine problems and we towed it to the community.

Back to this paradise called the Amazon, where I had the privilege of experiencing the traditions and customs of the local communities. My first stop is here in the community of our Barrinha, I will stay here for about 2 months, showing my day to day with this great and wonderful family called São Francisco da Mangueira. Wait, there's a lot of cool things coming around, from the daily life of the riverside people, where their main livelihood activity is fishing, the long awaited time of handling the pirarucu, fishing with harpoons, wild animals of this wonderful forest, with all their beauties, rivers, igarapé and igapó.
