- Hill Agriculture Research Station of Khagrachari is a unique, exceptional & unparalleled tourist spot in Bangladesh. It is well known to the locals as 'Pahari Krishi Gobeshona Kendra'. It is really a big platform for research opportunities on agricultural crops of the Hill Tract. Various types of research on crops like fruits, flowers, vegetables and even on Jhum are conducted here. This Hill Agriculture Research Station is the heart of agriculture and farmers of the hill tracts. It plays a vital role into the hill economy. It creates an opportunity for the researchers to get connection with hilly people & their lifestyles.
Khagrachari Hill Agriculture Research Station started as a project of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Development Board, run with financial support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). After the expiry of the project in 5 years it started as a Hill Agricultural Research Station under the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute in 1988.
A group of scientists of Hill Agriculture Research Station of Khagrachari has achieved great success through relentless hard work. The scientists have developed different types of green Malta, Various types Mangoes, Litchis, Rambutan, Pears, Passion fruit, Black Pepper, Cloves etc.
The Research Station has more success stories. Cashew nut, orange, Chinese orange and dragon fruit are also under the research list. They have advanced much on Chinese orange and cashew nut.
Day by day the Hill Agriculture Research Station of Khagrachari becomes a great tourist attraction of the hill district. High-low tills, lakes and greenery of the research center attract to domestic and foreign tourists. It has been compounded with small cottages on the lake. In recent years, the number of tourists has increased significantly here. There is a rare opportunity to become closely acquainted with the cultivation of various types of local and foreign fruits, spices and vegetables here.
However, it requires permission to enter the research center and the orchard.

How to go from Dhaka?
At first, you have to go to Khagrachari. Then you can go by Ricksha, CNG or Easy Bike. It is very close to Khagrachari Town.
