When I was a kid, we used to have an annual family reunion. My great uncles would set a huge cast iron cauldron of water boiling over a fire and then go out in the field and pick the corn! Best corn I ever ate.
Thank you for your very instructive video. I know that it may be a simple thing like boiling corn on the cob. But your videos really does make a difference to many. I've subscribed to your channel and gave your video a thumbs up. Be safe and be well.
Thank you for the instructions. How can I keep these to have them over about 2-3 days? They turned out great but I’m curious to know if in future I can make them ahead of time and have during the week when I fell like it
You could reheat the corn in boiling water or in a steamer pan. A steamer pan would be fastest. If you are desperate you could microwave it but it seems to heat the inside of the cob faster than the outside corn.
I answered a question by another person about why do we add butter and salt on it because they didn't. I said that it always tasted better. But there are different ways forsure. My mom always boiled it with butter and salt. Coming from the corn capital of Canada. TABER , AB.
Thanks for answering their question. I just had corn this weekend. It was so delicious! I put butter and salt on it. I forgot about trying anything else. Someday I will.
@@CookingLessonsforDad i put pepper and salt in it as well and put it in then at 395 for about 30 minutes to hour and it is so dang good. Try it you will like it. The longer it cooks the more tender and delicious it is.
@@CookingLessonsforDad i use a casserole dish. I make a lot for my family. I use about 8 corn but i cut the corn in half. Add about 2-3 cups water, about 2 cup’s milk, 2-3 big dollops of butter any kind and 1 tbsp of salt and pepper. Cover with foil, let it start to boil, then check on it and give it a good stir. I have a big family. You can just use as much water and milk as needed and butter. I come from a family who doesn’t use measurements lol
To be honest I agree that it only takes about 7 - 8 minutes to get soft enough to eat but if you just do 15 - 20 minutes its so much softer and enjoyable.
Summary:
Step 1: Boil some water
Step 2: Put the corn in the water
Step 3: Wait
Perfect!
