    A VERY nice mini conversion. This is the first one, ever, that I have seen which retains one of the third row seats. Well done for your innovation. Happy Days

    Good to see you both out and about. A shame about the weather but good to get that first trip in the van under your belt. The work you’ve done on the van looks very professional, well done. French’s is a favourite when we go to Wells and Hunstanton is always fun. It’s the closet seaside to where we live. I’m looking forward to the next trip.

    Very nice van and certainly going to fit into all the car parks and small spaces. I like the way you converted the space and to do this on your own is a great achievement. The great British climate is always there to catch us out but we have never been “fair weather campers” or else we wouldn’t have been to many of the places we visited over the years. I am sure you will see the bluebells of spring in the coming days. Looking forward to more days out 🚐👍🏻 Trev

      Thank you Trev. Still a bit of work to do on the curtains and i will be happy with the Van. Hoping for lots of trips out in the Van, and my first sleep out will be in a couple of weeks when i go back to Brecon, and go up the Penny-fan while i still can 😊. Thanks for watching, Paul and Suzanne.

    Love this van. How do the back seats face each other? Can this be done on all alfards?

    • @OurDaysOut

      Yes, all Alphards have the same seat configuration options.

  • @Dadplod

    Hi, looking to do the same with my Vellfire. For the kitchen pod, did you choose a specific wood in consideration for weight? Thanks

    • @OurDaysOut
      @OurDaysOut  2 роки тому

      Hi, I just got the wood from wickes, As it was only one unit, the weight wasn’t going to be a problem.

    Just come across your channel and loving your uploads. We are looking to buy a van to do into a day van campervan and leaning towards Alphard/elgrand.
    On little research we are leaning more towards the Alphard due to better reliability.
    Can I ask if you find the 2.4 underpowered and what sort of mpg do you get, on searching a lot of folk say there isn't much difference between the V6 which has lot more power. Many thanks

    • @OurDaysOut
      @OurDaysOut  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you for watching our channel, and not having driven the V6, all I can say is that the 2.4 performs perfectly for us. It’s not brilliant on mpg, but then it is a heavy vehicle, and at a guess I would say we average 30 to 35 mpg. Hope that helps.

  • @richard7027
    @richard7027 3 роки тому +1

    Hi guys great video, just one question before i buy one how do you find the 2.4 engine because Im considering the 3.5 v6,look forward to your reply.

    • @OurDaysOut
      @OurDaysOut  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Richard. I have had no issues with the 2.4 engine, it pulls well and does every thing we need it to. The gearbox is lovely and smooth, and it runs very quietly. I had a Range rover sport until i changed it 3 years ago for a BMW X5, and i have to say that the Alphard is a better ride than both of them, but not as fast as you would expect, anyway that's not what the Alphard is about, it's made for a comfy ride with enough performance for any trips we make. Hope that helps.

    I like your rear unit, Where did you get the unit from? Was it pre-cut with the door openings? Have you got the sizes ?

    • @OurDaysOut
      @OurDaysOut  3 роки тому

      I made it from scratch, just made it up as i went along basically. I knew what i wanted, so kept measuring areas and cutting to fit, and it did end up exactly as i wanted. I got the parts from various places, including Wickes and eBay. I can give you all the info and measurements, but not now unfortunately as i am in my Van on a wild camp till Thursday evening.
