I grew up with Sandor - before the war, in Arnhem, he was the pianist in the Hungarian gypsy ensemble of Lajos Veres, in the classy restaurant Royal - I was lucky enough that many afternoons my parents wanted to stay there and enjoy, and I would sit on the corner of the podium, totally fascinated. When the war rolled over us, he switched to a solo gig as bar-pianist at the cafe Palermo. He survived the battle there and moved after the war to Scheveningen, continuing the fabulous career, often on radio broadcasts, from the great bar of the Hotel Kurhaus. Charles

Bon Jour @feargal75! I'm Anna Vidák, born in Gödöllő 1980. I'm the great granddaughter of Vidák József. Sándor often wisited my grandparents in Budapest (Iván Vidák and Arany Kiss) I remember him playing at our piano. It was imasing.
