Goby are usually found around mangroves mudflats or both. they use their top spectral fin to signal or challenge each other to a fight over positions on the flats/mangroves
All suggestions sound good. I was going for a resting (or slow crawling) goby but paddle tail would definitely add the action. I was thinking about embedding a hook in the mold too. Next time when I revisit this design, make those changes. Thanks for watching and leaving comments.
Thanks for the comment. It's an easy fix or customization - just trim it to your liking like cutting out the flashing :P If it's too small then I will have to redo the mold. Evan that it's still possible. It's the beauty of the DIY lure making - you have all the controls. Cheers!
Apparently everything in Erie eats goby. I guess it’s the up north thing. This video was requested by a sub therefore I am not the best person to answer 😋
Brought to North America via ballasts of container ships from Eastern Europe. They are quite invasive in the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence seaway but in the last 20 years everything has started gorging on them. Smallmouth bass in these waters love 'em, and are becoming obese eating them ;)
Hey there im a subscriber to youre channel i do a lot of smallmouth bass fishing i use a deepsleeper made buy magabass 2.8 version 1/2 once weight built inside the swimbait ?i was wondering if you can make a mold similar to it
@@androidmaster5554 I don’t have a plan to sell the finished molds yet. What you could do is bring the file to a local 3D print shop and have it printed there. Please stay tuned.
wow, This is so cool, I'm very interested in this,I'm trying to do it myself, But I have some problems, Can you help me? 1. I don't know what printing material should I use? 2. How much is appropriate for printing infill density? 3. What are you smearing on the mold with the toothbrush in your video? If, you can answer me, I will thank you very much
I mainly use PLA because they are easy to work with. There are other materials that can handle heat better like PETG, but I don’t have experience with it. For infill, I think 10% 2 lines should be good. That’s what I use. But sometimes I use 20% for thinner open pour molds, because I don’t clamp it when pouring. Hope this helps.

serious why you spped up the video like that... for noobs it's very difficult to follow. but final result is beautiful.. not sure it's very performing in water... too heavy. but it's beautiful for the eyes and very similar to a true one ;)
Ooops I was afraid viewers will get bored if the video is at regular speed. Try to playback at 0.25x speed and see if it helps. Yeah I was going for a stationary style and did not plan to work the bait too much, maybe just drag it along or bounce it off the bottom. And that’s how those gobies behave most of the time, I think. With that said, I am also working on a variation where the body has segments and hope that will create some action when slow swimming. I might release that one if it turns out to be successful. Stay tuned and thanks for watching.

Dang that 3d printed mold looks really good and the Goby model turned out great!

Wow looks like the real thing nice job
Oh and a quick tip, you don't need to use surfaces to split, you can just draw lines. Makes it a little easier to deal with for me.
Yes that would have simplified the splitting process. Thanks for the tip!
Awesome video. I fish lake st. Clair, we have goby, that would be an awesome mold for me.
Super kool!
Looks great I would make it a with a paddle tail!!! length I would go 2.8 inces how would you go about using a weighted hook in the mold

@yauckoutdoors do you make the molds for you're self or for purchase if so I'll like to talk about a custum mold for myself
Mostly for my personal use. Email me (email in my about page) if you want to talk more.

The lure looks amazing but I think it would look even beter with just a little smaller pectoral fins

I am in the process of uploading files to Cults. Please stay tuned and check the post on the channel page.
What software and machine you use to do this? I’ll like to learn how to do this.
I am using a software called Fusion 360, it’s free to download. My 3d printer is from Longer, LK4 pro. Welcome to the bait making world!
What are the goby lures for? I have never seen an animal that looks like the goby lure’s especially down south.

It doesn’t look too complicated so shouldn’t be a problem.
Good afternoon, is it possible to buy this bait casting mold from you?
Are you interested in getting the mold or the design file? I might make this available in my sketchfab shop soon.

The oil was fish attractant (classic bass) scent oil. It lubricates the molds and attracts fish at the same time 😄
