this guy talking about how audi uses Nvidia GPU in their dash display is the reason this guy should be at 5 millions subscribers. I swear other reviewers just get in and get excited audi loaned them the car so their review is basically 20 minutes of "woww they really improved this! so much better than this! wow !!"

Truth is, most people are incapable of appreciating quality content. Mr. Goose isn't aiming at the fat part of the curve. He's in search of the facts. He's in search of the truth. Most YTers are only interested in what all of those "little buttons" do, and of course, those all important "quirks and features."

Audi's interior is nice but the industry has become more competitive in the past decade. I love Volvo's interiors the best, both for functionality and aesthetics. For more economic cars, I really like Mazda's direction. For trucks, FCA may ironically give Ram better interiors than Maserati (or rather, Ram gets updated more frequently). I enjoy Tesla's interiors conceptually but their fit/finish and ergonomics can improve.

I bought a 21 prestige in Daytona gray with black optics last summer. Love it in almost every way. Couple of things that annoy me:
    1. The stock continentals are horrible. They look good, but expose the wheels to damage, and every pothole in the Chicago suburbs/highways is a concern. This was mitigated by Michelin Pilot sports A/S which are thicker, and cover the rims better as well as close off some fender gap
    2. The leather - the leather seats feel great, however, they wear easily. I try and condition and clean often, but feel like it almost does nothing. I have 17k miles on it and the seat is starting to wear a little especially on the bolster on the drivers side. I even try to sit in a way where I don’t „damage” it. The s logo on the seat is also starting to crease.
    3. Brake dust. It is horrible, however with a ceramic coating it is much easier to clean. Also when brake pads are due, I will switch to Akebonos, which produce less dust and are reliable
    4. Sometimes the car play doesn’t pair
5 the B\O sound system has some rattles in the A pillar. I replaced the speaker. The issue isn’t the speaker though, it is the area the speaker is in. Feels like it needs more felt
My 2 cents - otherwise it is perfect

You can manually dim the screens in the audi, and it's easy. There is a small black button around the headlamp control knob that does that. In this car's case, it is pressed inward. Pressing it again makes it pop outwards, and you just rotate it to adjust the brightness of the screens.

Been waiting on this review from SG for awhile now. I own an Audi 2018 S5 Sportback. I owned a "New" 1967 GTO w/ 335 HP when I was younger. I looked at the Alpha but it was too expensive for my wants which was "Power" Control, Speed, and Styling. Then I saw this Audi. My experience was extremely satisfying. My Trim Package was Premium + Sport etc carbon trim inside. The Red Seats, Black Outer Skin was perfect. The Power and torque are amazing, the ability to "Be There" is almost instantaneous. The Steering is tight and firm. I Love the Quattro Drive especially around corners, almost like being on Rails. It's that Good. As for the Auto upshifting, it actually is very comfortable for me, especially when I'm slowing down. In manual it doesn't upshift. This Automobile is a Lot more that just an upgrade in performance, Its a rocket ship with low end torque that will escape gravity quickly. It is almost too fast for the "Atlanta" Streets. Who needs more. This is a "Fine" German Auto. Thanks Audi and SG for all of the experiences. Love all of SG reviews!!!

I have a b9 s4 and I’ve got to clarify something. Looking at the way he break torqued it, I sincerely don’t think got the max out of it.
Typically you leave it in auto because that’s what gets the most out of the trans, then you have to turn off the drive assists all the way (press and hold the button for a few seconds- until ESC is off 100% and the screen displays that info).
Then break torque to get to 3250-3500rpm until you get to 50% boost and then release break.
Then that thing takes off and gets to 60 in 4.0-4.5s depending on the tires / air temp and your altitude. I get 4.0 most of the time - I live at sea level.

It's worth mentioning that this model version is no longer available for order, it was replaced last week by the face lifted version with a touch screen and no physical controls for the MMI. The HVAC is the same though.

Not exactly relevant but as an owner of a BMW and Audi, I can say hands down Audi ownership is way nicer than BMWs. I have worked on both cars in my garage and as an mechanical engineer you can really tell which company does more cost-cutting exercise. Hint: it is the BMWs. The discussion forums all agree that BMWs are known for oil leaks and other leaks regardless which generation of BMWs as well as worn out bushings. Comparing the two cars, you can quickly realized the size of the bushing, and heavily wear components are so much larger and heavier on the Audi than it is on the BMWs.
In the end, BMWs are nice looking cars, great fun to drive when it is working but an endless money pit in terms of maintenance. Audi is easier to drive, equally precise in steering (at normal road driving conditions), far more durable and way better value for money.

Which is incredible your operation can even come close to let alone exceed imo a program with the resources top gear has. Not to mention you don’t use all those annoying quick cut shots to make the cars seem faster than they really are. As always your info on the car is top notch. I would never consider this owning this car but still enjoyed the review. That’s the mark of a quality car reviewer there.

Also 3 years of complementary maintenance.. no reason to get the M3/M4/RS5 unless you track it. M340i xDrive or X3 M40i as a daily driver with a 718 GTS as a secondary car

      @vomErsten 4 роки тому

TBQH this car is 90% of an RS and it's extremely hard to justify another USD 15,000 for the RS when you compare the features; it's mostly just styling differences. The engines are related and, while the RS5 obviously has more potential, the S5 can still be tuned to within inches from the stock RS5...and you'll have plenty of remaining cash to doll it up or spend on more important things. Drive the S5 until the warranty expires, then tune. Done. Heck, when the APR tune drops you won't even need to wait until the warranty expires because APR will take over the warranty with their Plus program.

  • @FallenArtemie

I really think this might be my next car (have a GTI rn) because it's classy on the street but still pulls when needed. And for a used version, it comes at a fair price. But I agree that the styling is too toned down for a S class. This is what the A5 should look like, the S5 needs more; it's like they wanted it to be a sleeper car - but the RS5 is already sorta that. Only reason i'd get this over a fake m4 or the CLA equivalent is because of what you said in the A5 review, both of those feel dated where Audi feels like they're heading to the future of design and have great consistency between the look, feel, and experience.

@@JAM_2024 Coming from a BMW N54 engine, I wanted to be prepared so I looked up the carbon build up cleaning procedure on this "hot v" 3.0 V6 and was shocked to see very little info on it. From the one video I've seen where they cleaned the carbon, the engine was out of the vehicle. With the engine in the vehicle, the axles and front subframe will have to be dropped in order to gain clearance to clean the valves! On the N54 carbon cleaning was $300-$400 with a forum member, and around $500-600 at a shop on a RWD car. AWD +$$ I'm imagining this Audi engine is going to require a substantial amount more. I forgot to mention the ZF transmission fluid filter/pan on the Audi is not easily accessible, it needs some of the front suspension/possibly the subframe dropped to pull the pan out. ouch!
