Rugby is the best thing that ever happened to me and my life!!Made so many friends and helped to get me over a serious problem!
Me too bro me too
Same man. I am from India and I got introduced to it by the Rugby 08 video game. I am amongst the handful of Indians who watch the sport and every world cup I watch it alone and scream at my tv screen all by myself. Thankfully, this time I managed to convince 3 of my friends to follow the world cup and guess what, they are hooked now.
I was in the stadium watching this video it gave me goosebumps! In the context of the whole atmosphere etc. One of the best moments of my life. To all the guys who said the opening ceremony was average or worse, it definitely was a case of you had to actually be there!
Welcome to Rugby World Cup 2015!

love how they put the "I vow to thee my country" and the Rugby World cup anthem together. From what I recall, the two anthems are both played to the exact tune.
To who it may concern,
First of all, I'm trying to be more polite as I can because I'm trying to use this to direct a message to the World Rugby. I live in Brazil and we are over 200 million people very passionate about sports, as you can see by soccer. However unfortunately not the same about Rugby yet. So I'm here to make an appeal to you guys from the World Rugby to help people to know Rugby in Brazil and get in love for this amazing sport. What i'm here to ask in simple, could you try add some subtitles in Portuguese to some of your videos, doesn't need to be all of them just a few such as the opening ceremony would be great to start and it will make everyone knows more about rugby
kind regards
Very polite
Victor Gerheim football*
they call it soccer
wow you very polite
u dont have a brazilian name?
So the next rugby World Cup will mark 200 years of rugby
2023
Played rugby from the age of 5 up until my late 20s and even had a few games in my 30s I’m 35 now but I’m glad I got to experience the greatest team sport in the world.. so many memories wins and loses emotional times and very happy times so many bonds created with friends playing rugby
This is just beautiful, il look back on this in fifty years and have a tear saved for that moment, when realised I was lucky to play the greatest sport in the world 🏴🌹🏉
Rugby union is among my favorite sports.
It's among my favorites because I liked the tackles while trying to score points, 2019 was the first time I got much involved in rugby union 🏉, in India once in 4 years rugby is telecasted (only during men's Rugby union World Cup). Lots of memories created in 2019 World Cup for me.
Love from India 🇮🇳
Keep watching my friend Rugby is for the world to enjoy and one day India can have their own team and compete
I still remember watching Samoa vs Japan and France vc Canada in Milton Keynes and I don't think much will ever top that, especially with my mate performing before one of the games with his band. What a time to have seen it
Lomu at full pace gave me goosebumps.
RIP big guy
Jona a world class rugby player a brilliant All black loved by Newzealand but well respected in Wales A good player and a good man we miss you Jona R I P
This year's 2023 Rugby World Cup in France marks the bicentennial (200 Year Anniversary) of the 'invention' of the sport itself of 'Rugby Union', that it is STILL today by the once young 'William Webb Ellis'!
HOW INCREDIBLE IS THAT?!
🏉
Webb ellis was the real inventor of rugby union but his sport was overshadowed by rugby league 72 years later.
@@MisterPolitical1 AHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA rugby league? What's that?
@No Name rugby league is a breakaway rugby football code formed in 1895.
@@MisterPolitical1 I know, I was joking because nobody knows or follow it, except in Australia

What a great sport this is, Love RU from India ❤️
Same man. I am also from Kolkata, India and I got introduced to it by the Rugby 08 video game. I am amongst the handful of Indians who watch the sport and every world cup I watch it alone and scream at my tv screen all by myself. Thankfully, this time I managed to convince 3 of my friends to follow the world cup and guess what, they are hooked now. This is the best sport and I have no problem saying it albeit I am a massive football fan (Mohun Bagan).
Best mistake in history

Who is here after Japan 2019
Soccer naturally leads to Rugby. I used to be goalkeeper at my school in Switzerland and one day felt the desire to run across the field with the ball still in my hands. Of course, the opposite team players started to do the same. Ever since Rugby became part of the curriculum and I like to believe there is now a Rugby Union Club in my old town ;)
I have a feeling that you’re lying
Really well rounded video using a little history and advancing through time to the modern era in a beautifully striking display to really inspire rugby fans and flame their passion of the sport. The only thing I would've liked to have seen added is the ball returning to Earth transforming into the modern Gilbert ball. Other than that this is one awesome video.
Did anyone spot all the former international players in the crowd on the pitch side?
That was Clive Woodward the guy throwing his hat down
Yup
Great !!! I'll probably show this to my pupils on monday... A good introduction to Rugby.
still get goosebumps watching this
As someone who lives in rugby i remember everwhere was just the world cup, the library opened w tonne of new stuff and i find it hard to believe that its almost been 4 years
Johnny Wilkinson sees someone refusing to kick and instead runs with the ball “what’s he doing?” 😂
Underrated comment 🤣🤣
He's has a cameo role being a groundsman
本当素晴らしいRWC… 2015年は伝説の年

katryn stewart because he is English and it was the opener for the world rugby cup in England and absolutely Johnny Wilson was near him to English famous people because Johnny plays for England so that is why he is famous and prince Harry too is famous but does not play
One of many sports that were developed in the UK in fact there is no doubt this is the home of modern sports , the country that first put sports into the schools curicculam .

alguém tem o vídeo com legenda!? em português..
Awesome intro!!
Is that the boy from Merlin?
Does anyone know whether the captain's speech contains any elements of historical truth ?
Can anyone tell me what is the name of the song at the beginning of the video i,e who sang the song please
why is there black people if this is 19th century england
because - shock horror - this isn't a video of what happened its an imagining which is inclusive to encourage more diversity in those viewing.
Because times have changed and Black people have the same rights as white people now. This isn't the 19th century anymore it's the 21st!
The black man is Serge Betsen, who played in the french national team for 10 years, and for the wasps at the end of his career. Nevertheless, I did not recognize the others...
+God of War And yet the video is clearly set in the 19th century so the question stands.
+God of War Yeah.... but it's set in the 19th Century....
Good Luck to South Africa, wish all the best boys
Japan 34-32 South Africa 😂
+Oliver McCall (wingding341) that's b*******
+Long Leather Coat Haha 😂
+Oliver McCall (wingding341) I couldn't believe that the Springboks lost to Japan oh well hope Japan makes it to the knockout stages and it's coming from an All Black fans
+Long Leather Coat Same here, coming from a Home Nations fan! 😂
I'm hoping for a rush victory this (Hardly)would love to see Samoa or Tonga Wong this year in 2019
Love it!
Dressed up I saw Bill Baumont, Will Greenwood, Jason Leonard, Ian McGeekan, Serge Betson (I don't recognize who was beside Betson), Clive Woodward, and of course Wilkonson and Prince Harry.
Wasn't Magne next to Betson? Also I think that's Maggie Alphonsi next to Sir Clive.
Anyone knows the title of the soundtrack??
Four years ago tomorrow!
hola es un honor mandar esto yo juego al rugby ace 2 años y es un juego de respeto y honor
For everyone, someone can tell me who is all the " old " rugbymen we see during the clip from the beginning to the end ? ( I know Serge Blanco, Jonah Lomu, David Campese, Jason Robinson, Brian O'Driscoll, but the others....I don't know them, sorry :) )
Thanks guys and enjoy the WC !
Cheers from Britanny, France.
Tokyo is so close now from September 10 2019
Absolutley brilliant!!!👌👍
"come on England" the birthplace of great sports🌷🌍🏆🏈💪👊☝
+DJ Peepin Tom Was a good win.Come on England!
Yes what a great game and a good start for England. The best sports in the world were born on this island rugby, football, golf(Scotland i know) cricket etc etc the list goes on. With rugby we actually have a great chance at winning it espeacially on home soil... 🙏🙏🙏
👍✊✌☝☝☝
+DJ Peepin Tom And yet they suck at all of them... Also baseball > cricket. Football > Rugby. Basketball > soccer.
Just Getting By 11 cricket world cups, England has won 0. Rugby World Cups 7 England has won 1. That's not a very good record, especially since there isn't that many total countries that seriously care about these sports. How many countries seriously play Rugby? Like 6. How many countries seriously play cricket? Like 10.
Just Getting By USA isn't even in the same group as Tonga... But don't let the facts get in the way of your nonsense. We played Samoa and lost by 9..
Also Fun Fact Alert: USA is the two time defending Gold medalist in Rugby at the Olympics.
Also you are kind-of proving my point. In America we don't play Rugby. We have a national team, because we have a national team in everything. Yet we are ranked 15th in the world. That shows just how many countries actually play Rugby. It's around 10. To show how little we play Rugby in America, they aren't even showing the Rugby World Cup on tv.
There is probably as many countries that play baseball seriously as there are that play Rugby seriously. Baseball: USA, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, Panama, Puerto Rico, Curacao, Nicaragua. These are countries where baseball is very popular.
