Fishing nets inside the Philippine exclusive economic zones are deemed properties of the Philippines. So if Chinese fishermen hurled their nets inside the Philippine EEZ waters, they should guard them from being lost and/or carried away by strong currents. Blaming Filipinos for other fishermen's reckless and irresponsible fishing conduct reflects stupidity.But those were not fishing nets , they were boat propeller traps.

The UNCLOS has no jurisdiction over territory disputes. EEZ does not define the ownership of any maritime features (islands, rocks and low-tide elevations).

When the song dynasty ships were naming these reefs and islets, the Filipinos were not even advanced enough to be a country with any sovereignty. Then they got colonized by Spain, then the US, both of which showed no claim to any of these islets. So how can the Filipinos now claim these islets? They were previously already claimed, and so the Filipinos are nothing but pirates trying to steal these islets from China.
