In this video, we'll be looking at the Welsh workhorse, the Class 175 "Coradia", between Manchester Piccadilly and Newport (South Wales), along the Welsh Marches Line. These trains will be gone within the next year or so on this route, so we take a ride just to show what it is we'll be missing in the near future!

One of my favourite routes for sure! You'll have to join me on a 153 Heart of Wales jaunt sometime!
Transport for wales should really put on longer trains for these journeys, 2-3 cars really isnt enough for a journey like this
100% agree - I hope when the Mk4s are introduced on some of the Manchester to Swansea diagrams, more can be used in multiple on the Welsh Marches.
Thank's for the video, I'm going to check out Crewe-Heritage right now!
I’ve never found the Coradias comfortable. Going the Crewe to South Wales journey a few times a year, it’s a long drag, often crowded and people having little space for luggage.
Lovely journey, cramped and I can’t imagine the 2/3 coach class 197s being an improvement.
I don't think the soap necessarily wasn't there, but you have to press a button on the front, which is a little hidden if you look from above the dispenser
Great Video as usual Midland! Although the best station in the North West has to be Liverpool Lime ST ;)
Maybe in the 20th century 😉 And cheers DOTS! 😁
Once I got on a 175 to Manchester Piccadilly to go to Old Trafford via Metrolink, it was uncomfortable, the seat cover was tearing apart, the heat was stuck on, it got delayed and no refreshments.
Great video mate. 175s are good trains. Don't like Manchester Piccadilly myself.
RTT does have some problems at times, I use Railcam data
looks a lot better than the transport for the wales train i got from Newport to Manchester (caught the train to Newport from Bristol) last year to go home for a funeral ..it was a sprinter was an awful journey thank god coming back I was on the cross country service through Birmingham to bristol
The 175s are the principal trains used on the route, although Sprinters do find themselves working the route quite regularly as TfW’s stock situation isn’t great at the moment.
Devastated that you left out my town nantwich as "there wasn't much going on from here" 😭
🤣 Sorry to disappoint, if it makes you feel better there was a 197 on the approach to Nantwich but someone was sitting on the other side so couldn’t get it 😭
It's a shame the 197 is replacing these units. These are more better than the 197's to me. They're more comfortable and better and have better reviews than the 197 as well.
I see me!! Working at Starbucks In Manchester pic
I'll be sad to see the 175s go 😥
what app did you use
this is going to sound like a dumb question but do you need a passport and visa to travel between the nations of the UK
no
No, it's not really different to travelling between different states in the US in that regard

what is the phone app you use to display line, speed, and speed limit?
The app’s called Speedmeter, not sure if it’s on Google Play but it’s on the app store 👍
