The bears failed the NFC North…It could have been Jared, Jordan, JJ, and Jayden…….. when has a single division had QB’s with names that start with the same letter? These are the NFL stats we truly need.

Niner fan here and that's about the only smart thing I've read so far.
I'm from Australia and we have had salary caps for a couple of decades now.
Let me explain a VERY simple fact about salary capped leagues.
Overpaying 1 player, no matter HOW GOOD they are has never worked in a salary cap league and it DOES NOT matter what sport it is. Overpaying 1 or 2 players means underpaying everyone else.
Where it always shows up is in the fringe players who you just can't pay enough money to have good ones because there's nothing left to pay them with. What you end up with is there's NOBODY to help backup the superstar you're paying all the money too.
In American football this will become really obvious on special teams, because ST has those 3rd & 4th stringers which for the Packers are going to have to be people willing to play for less and if any of them do turn out to be good when they become free agents they will simply leave for a better payday somewhere else.

The QB is the most important player on the field. An excellent, quality, well-rounded, trustworthy franchise QB is the most difficult player to find in all of professional sports. Just ask the Chicago Bears. Yes, the numbers are absurd, but given the money this sport generates and the difficulty of finding a franchise QB-the market is what it is, and I agree with a fellow reply here, the cap keeps going up. There's money enough for everyone.

They watched him grow as a player, they watched him grow as person and most importantly they watched him grow as a teamate. Players like him and so do the coaches. We watched it the entire season last year. This camp he held out on actually practicing but still showed up in the pouring rain to be with his guys and still grow. 13:16 Tom Clements? THE Tom Clements?
I wasn't aware that he was a QB coach for your Packers. If so, then it makes sense why Jordan Love may be a threat.
When TC was with the CFL's Hamilton Tigercats, the powerhouse Winnipeg Blue Bombers traded away massive arm throwing QB Dieter Brock to Hamilton for Clements, then proceeded to win multiple Grey Cups. Why? Clements has an amazing football IQ so was essentially like the Goff of the CFL. Dieter on the other hand was a fantasy sports god but kept failing in real football important results.
FYI: I'm a Blue Bombers fan of the CFL and a Lions fan of the NFL.

    1) They don't have to pay anyone else on the offense considerable money for a few years.
    2) They had a lead on the road against the eventual NFC champs (who made it to OT in the SuperBowl).
    3) They had a victory against the eventual champs in KC.
    4) Love generally played his best later in the year (which is what you wanna see from your QB anyways).
    5) They have the pieces to play with the contenders right now. He's the guy that needed to get paid imminently, at the position that requires big money. This is simple.
After the era of Favre (including some of his notable backups) followed by Rodgers and Love's first season, let's give GB the benefit of the doubt when it comes to QB.

Jordan got a lot of Love and very good performance last season. I personally think the lack of QB depth chart that the Packers is giving Love a monster contract. This contract is ridiculous and dumb. Strain on the Salary Cap and I think Packers may had thrown away their future for the next seasons to come.

I would like to be the guy to Remind EVERYONE about one called Rick Mirer. His rookie year, first year starting was probably a top 10 QB and maybe even made a pro bowl and everyone was going crazy saying next Montana and such. His second year starting, after defenses learned by watching tape of what he did well and what he doesn't do well. Mirer fell off a cliff and was a total BUST and a disaster. Traded to Bears for a first round pick ( Bears were are still stupid ). So it has several times in the past. One year and Second year after Defenses have watched ton of tape of him and about to ruin him this year

Three straight 12 win seasons and all those MVP votes don’t mean much to me right now. It’s getting harder to enjoy the ups and downs of the regular season, even the good ones we’ve had lately, when you know what’s probably waiting in January

It's weird he's as excited about this as he is. Love getting more than Herbert, Lamar, Mahomes, and Allen is going to crush the Packers ability to put stars in other areas of the team, while Mahomes coasts on 10 mil less per season that's adding quality to his roster. Love might be better than Lawrence and Tua. But is he THE guy? Crazy money.

Every team that pulls off this move hopes for a Rodgers, but most end up with a Trubisky. One good year, lots of hype with an improved cast, regression and mediocrity.
Not saying it will happen, but it's always a possibility. And I want Packers fans to experience the disappointment of seeing a QB flash talent and then never capture it again like we have in Chicago. Not bitter. Not bitter at all.
