  • The Beautiful city of Timisoara, Romania - is nicknamed the "Little Vienna" of Eastern Europe. This city is the closest "big city" to the Serbian border and is often missed by tourists visiting Romania. It is lined with beautiful architecture and brightly colored buildings throughout the many squares in the old town, including the largest, Unity Square. It's also known for its well-maintained parks and numerous green spaces as well as a beautiful river walk along the Bega Canal. There are also many historical monuments to visit including the Orthodox Metropolitan Cathedral. Timisoara, Romania is a must-stop if you are in the area! We hope you enjoy this vlog as we take you on a stroll around this beautiful city exploring all there is to see and do.

That is a wrap on our travels through Romania. We absolutely loved our time here and can't wait to return! We are curious to know - what was your favorite city we visited? Over the next two weeks, we will be sharing with you our final thoughts on Romania including our top must-see locations as well as what it cost to travel throughout Romania and stay in 8 locations over two months.

As a local my favorite city would be Bucharest, not for the looks but because of connectivity, opportunity and it's the most open minded and western thinking city in Romania
Also Bucharest has plenty of downsides, like ugly blocks crowded streets dirty sidewalks (when they are not occupied by cars) noisy expensive etc.
From an esthetic point of view, i would choose Sighișoara, it's just a personal opinion

It seems you visited only cities in Transylvania. There are many other beautiful cities and towns in the Eastern part of Romania (called Moldova, not to be confused with Republic of Moldova, which is a separate country), also in the Souther part of Romania (called Muntenia). I strongly recommend you to visit Iasi in Moldova region, Sinaia and Craiova in Muntenia region. By the way, Iasi is one of the most beautiful cities of Romania.

@@selcovoilucian8253 Sighisoara would be top notch if they would invest in the urban landscaping of the city outside the citadel. They basically need to get rid of the ugly utility poles and hanging cables and they need beautiful paved sidewalks and lots of building restorations. Even inside the citadel there's lots of work to be done, lots of restorations to be done.

The most suggested place for us to visit was the Moldova region and specifically Iasi. We honestly didn't know any better when we planned out our visit. We will be excited when we return to see everything that we missed. Thank you for the suggestion and for watching our channel.

Timișoara is the place where the Romanian revolution started, the only anti-comunist revolt that succeed, on the steps of that church people lost their lives
I am sure you remember seeing it on the news in your teen years
But anyway, Timișoara is unique looking with it's secesionist style of architecture
We wait for YOU to give a feedback on Romania, the cost , the transport, the good the bad , the overrated and the underrated

"comparable to more popular cities of Europe"??? Not really, that historical part is just some big squares with dilapidated facades (except for some that are roughly restored) where there is literally nothing except for some touristic impersonal terraces. You can see that quietly in an hour and then leave because there is nothing else. The rest of the city (the real city) are just endless residential soviet areas, terribly arid (asphalt and concrete) and creepy.

Timisoara will be the Cultural Capital of Europe in 2023, so that’s why so many of these hystorical buildings are under renovation to make sure they’re pretty by 2023 :)
Timisoara is the most multicultural city in Romania, the place where Romanians, Hungarian, Serbian, German, Bulgarian and Ukrainianians have lived in harmony for centuries. Many other people in different cities in Romania are not able to understand this harmony 🥰
And most recently Italians too, there is a huuuuge expat community in Timisoara. Also lots of African students. It’s a great place, my hometown actually. We live in between London and Brasov now, but I’m always happy to go back home 🥰

You have finally arrived in my city, you know what they say, save the best for last :)) Apparently you haven't missed a lot in the city, maybe the biggest catholic cathedral in Timisoara, the Millennium Church, it's really huge and pretty. But as a local, I tend to overlook the tourist spots, I recently had a foreign friend coming to visit the city and she knew about places I didn't even recognize, just by doing online research. Visiting the city "as a tourist" I was surprised to see how many foreigners were on the city streets, I should really visit the city center more often :)) Looking forward to your wrap up videos on Romania, and also the Belgrade one, as last week I just visited it for the 6th or 7th time already (it's really close to Timisoara).. It's a beautiful city, except for the fact that's it's way to hilly and uneven for my manual car driving abilities :)

Its one of the safest towns in europe, place 20th i think out of 700 cities or so. Also oradea, cluj feature in top 15 or so, oradea being the 3rd in EU overall for safety
Why? Because during the rough 1990s and EU accesion, alot of jobless people found work abroad, a higher number than normal. So here stayed mostly the people which made a honest income. During that time it was not much to steal here also, so this “business” relocated also
