- Took all of the suspension components off of the GT40. Flipped it over and scuffed the bottom with a Scotch pad, applied a self etching primer then a silver tint Raptor brand liner to the bottom of the car.
The aviator in me compelled me to install baffles. Bit of a chore but no waves racing front and back under acceleration and braking. Gord in Toronto. 8/10s done.
What is the purpose of the raptor liner on the bottom. Noise cancelation?
@@zoomxf644 Recommended by the manufacturer. I questioned the necessity as well but did it anyway.
@@official-lakelakelakewi I am going to guess that it is going to act as a sound deadener but also protect the the under belly from some road debris/rash as it is aluminum and is going to dent relatively easy. Its too bad that they stopped doing Line-X in Eagle River, as it is a much tougher material, and applied thicker. It would have cost considerably more but would have offered more protection and acted as an additional stiffener. We all now the junk we can find going down the road. The additional weight on a road car wouldn't be noticed.
As Three Lakes is a small town I am going to say that I am just down the road from you. I have a place just north of town and would be interested in seeing your build. I found your build thread over on GT40"s website and just started to follow it also
