J. DR3SN Have you ever known "nature" to make anything? I find it hard to believe how an abstract noun creates something that the most advanced science of today can't even begin to explain or reproduce.
Yep, more like in.. miraculous ways:)) I won't annoy you with my opinion, but think about it: there is no law in nature (no law, no force, no process) that leads something to become more orderly. Nature doesn't organise things, nature only disorganizes things. The more time passes by, the more disorganized they become. Prove this wrong, if you can! Why believe that mindless processes - that is, evolution -- can do what brilliant scientists cannot do? Evolution is nothing more than a theory that is presented as a fact. If you learn about even the most simple one-cell organism, you will find out it's incredibly, incredibly, incredibly complex... natural laws have never been observed to do that... As an intelligent person, draw your own conclusions, don't accept theories as facts! Peace!
Whoever does the audio background noises is very talented. I love the subtle bug crawl noises, the gentle sound of water flowing, etc. Love these series of videos. Great work!
Those sounds will most likely annoy you after watching your seventh video with them. Afterwards, you might prefer muting them, turning on your own music, and reading the subtitles instead.
Caddisfly larvae are so awesome! I've been researching Caddisflies for a Biomimicry class assignment and learned that in addition to shape and size, they are also selecting for texture. Caddisflies need a smooth interior shell to circulate oxygen for respiration inside the case, so the smoother the stones, the less silk required to adhere the case pieces together. If they have to build with rough surface textures, they do, but it requires coating the entire inside with more layers of silk to make it smooth. So in addition to being very skillful builders, they are also incredibly efficient in their building process. Thanks for this video - they are kind of cute too :D
I remember seeing somewhere that there are people putting these insects in artificial environment with little rocks of gold or gems instead of the little rocks these insects make their "repair". The insects make their things and these people sell the "repair" those insects have created as jewellery especially earrings. I hope that doesnt damages the animal. (Sorry for my eng)
***** Ah, that's probably why I never saw one. The creek behind my grandmother's house has a sewer pipe that dumps sudsy water into it.. and further downstream a small oil refinery ran a pipe to it. They claimed they were just sucking creek water into the plant, but the water is has that telltale rainbow tinge on the surface. The EPA never did anything about either.
Wow, I really have to say that you guys make amazing videos. I have never even put much thought into what the larva of the caddisfly must be like, and low and behold it's a an amazing work of nature. Wow. I can also say I am just as amazed when it comes to the time it must take to actually film and edit all of this, haha. I would love to one day see you guys do a video on pitcher plants, there are some amazing ones. Like the Cobra Lily! Take care!

I seen caddisfly many times in creeks and canals and other types of clear water surfaces . and they don t bite. Its interesting their are making their own shells from various materials like small stones , snail shells , leafs , plant needles. Exist 2 types of caddisfly larva. 1st is herbivor and making shells from various materials ( larva fom this video is that type ) and 2nd is carnivor and making spider like nets to catch prey
Could this be something of use for people with collagen disorders? Ehlers-Danlos syndrome for instance. I'm just wondering because I have this illness, and my "tape" is so faulty that I have joint dislocations and subluxations every day, and pain constantly. I'm 20 years old and feel like an 80 year old. My body produces faulty collagen, but perhaps this little creature might hold the key to a new treatment option?
Just think, that little bug knows how to build itself an armored shell, along with all the other knowledge a bug has. I find it hard to believe that such a little brain is able to make what looks like a really well-designed structure. Just think of what that means for the potential of robots.
I think its more to do with instinct than them processing information. Like how our hands jerks itelf out if it touches something hot - we do it instinctivly. At least thats what I think.
gmusashi45 - It's an interesting thing to think about either way though, so many different creatures that are not intelligent have incredibly complex behaviours that you can't help but see the intelligence in. It's different from British and American spelling
depends on the species of caddis there are a lot of them, and they don't all use pebbles, some use plant matter others just their silk alone.
Being honest, this is one of the best edited channels on UA-cam that i ever seen, excelent work. . .
Thank you, Carlos.
you made it look as big as a crab. but it's good that you showed it at the end

guys, it was a fly... How could it be much bigger than that
