I tried so many times to beat him before checking out this video. I switched to your loadout (except I used Crimson Aegis of the summon Ward of the Damned) and beat him in my first go. I didn't realize that Heart Strike healed so much. At any rate, thanks mate-- this helped a ton.
I was having a really hard time with this one. Died many many times. With your setup I was having trouble at the very end and couldnt get him. What helped was using a high quality scholar blood ( I think it was 95%) with chaos volley, sanguine coil and heartstrike. The scholar blood paired with sanguine coil does a lot of healing. I also did it with the blood moon as I was desparate at this point. Finally got it done. The final 2 bosses were much easier for me by comparison. Thank you for all of the work on the videos by the way they have all been great
Wow thanks for those kind words! I didn't really touch a lot on sanguine coil but saw many people use it - I definitely will give that one a try. But on the other hand I love those couple seconds the skeletons distract the bosses to give yourself some more breathing time.
alternating to your crossbow to drop volley would add a aoe dps to the mix that isn't being utilized. I do reaper throw, crossbow volley, chaos volley, dash, in that order pretty much, depending on the context.
Thanks for the guide! I've been struggling with this boss even with the manticore buff. I usually prefer to run scholar but 100% rogue may be better for the movement like you said
So one thing you can try if you're confident in your mechanics is swapping to crossbow for Q damage. It does HUGE damage, and since you basically never use Q on reaper, you can combine both E and Q of those weapons to do insane damage. Also, another suggestion is using Power shield or Blood barrier instead of ward of the damned. As good as ward of the damned is, the shields give you enough shield to straight up tank hits instead of timing the block. They also block damage from all moves, not just the direct attack moves like ward of the damned, which means you can fully tank AOEs with them
The tactic that worked best for me has been with: general soul reaper, scholar blood, veil of chaos, chaos volley, sanguine coil, , artic leap. It was impossible for me to dodge all his attacks so i healed myself with sanguine coil, this skill can heal you and dps the enemy both. And keep the special ability for when many minions come out.
Also, note that his triple hand slam is 100% dodgeable by side stepping left right left The charges are blockable but the duration of the triple charge may be abit too long to shield so you should use your own dash for the first charge and shield the last 2 charges Avoid using skeleton shield because his spawns scale off the number of enemies (including your summons) His slams are also blockable except the body slam from the sky
Ohhhhhhhh. That explains why he once or twice summoned a huge army of beasts instead of the regular one wolf and one bear. He's scary enough without an extra 15 wolfs/bears to fight.
I did it with Scholar blood, chaos volley, purgatory, mirror strike, and veil of chaos only took two attempts. The second try I ended with almost full hp. Just save dash for his dash or leap. Heal with purgatory for anything else that hits you. The first attempted I failed just cause it was bugged and he was spawning 4 adds instead of 2. Using Mirror Strike for the initial copy summon made it easy.
sanguine coil would work alot better than purgatory, esppp with scholar blood as u get lifesteal + spell power, u would heal mad amounts while doing massive damage, but yea good build, mirror strike is an amazing ult
@@actuallytyro4425 I get why people like coil. But personally I prefer purgatory. I find it easier to work with. Also due to cooldowns on the charges vs the purgatory cooldown. The damage/healing is very comparable. It's also just less casting and the AOE makes it higher damage against the add groups.
I think having a quite high itemlevel helps also a ton, i did see a big difference when trying him on just a few levels lower when using my crossbow thats why i used my axe.
Pretty much every boss I've tried with my clan mate has been a failure. Even if I beat them already solo. Seems to be a pretty big scaling when there is more than one player. Solo just seems way easier for boss fighting tbh.
@@K4113B4113 I feel the opposite. When me and my buddy play we have no issues. Really helps to have different spells than your teammates. That's just from my experience though

very good movement
this is the toughest boss in game

him spawning 4 adds would be because another player hit him and it scaled I think

Ya I’m stuck I give up for a couple of days lol. Hope this load out helps when I re try
If they nerfed his health by 20% he would be fine

They shouldn't nerf him, why would they? He is managable and is ment to be one of the top 3 bosses.
Ridiculously hard solo. Definitely not designed for one person.
