- In America, there are supermarkets that cater to the general public and there are specific supermarkets that cater to specific tastebuds. For our family, we visit our local African supermarket every now and then when we are hungry for specific Ghanaian dishes
At this particular African supermarket, they don’t just sell grocery items. They have already cooked foods that you can just pick up and it is so convenient…An already made meal which requires no cooking is a win in any mothers book 😂
I love to cook many dishes but this one dish (TX) is that one dish I have decided not to make because of how complicated it is. Too many steps and too many dishes

I absolutely love Tuo Zafi. I swear it's made with my favorite vegetable Jute leaf. I love the slimmy mixed with the stew. I was introduced to it here in Houston at a the Ghanaian restaurant called Delight's Ghanaian restaurant. I could eat it everyday.

Nigerians call it fufu also. We have yam, garri and cassava fufu depending on what part of Nigeria ypu come from. Swallow is anything you swallow without chewing, it could be plantain fufu popularly known as amala, yam amala etc.

I bought Fofo from H-E-B and was made from yam. It was turning purple color and the kids were starting crime like mom Mom is supposed to be white. The kids eat with the red curry Thai chicken

Mres opm should have been told about the names of the meals bought, I can't understand a market supermarket not knowing about what they are selling! The meal is semovita swallow with ewedu green side soup and the regular stew/soup.
Tz is made with cornflour and cassava flour
Nigeria also has fufu but from cassava and amala which can be a derivative of plantain, cassava or yam.
