  • Discover the Maya myth of Venus, the morning star plotting revenge on his brother, the sun, and his allies.
    --
    Chak Ek’, the morning star, rose from the underworld to the surface of the eastern sea and on into the heavens. His brother K’in Ahaw, the sun, followed. Though Chak Ek’ had risen first, K’in Ahaw outshone him, and the resentful Chak Ek’ descended back to the underworld to plot against his brother and his allies. Gabrielle Vail details the Maya myth of the morning star.

I don't know if the numbers actually match up, but this year would be the end of the next 5 cycles/8 year period and the beginning of the next 5 cycle/8 years. By the morning star,
    He says:
    The earth is my witness
    And then becomes awaken.
    He who speaks only das truth and nothing false is a Buddha.
    Strange indeed;
    But hidden in de heart of every living interbeing there lies a seed of Buddhahood like fire is hidden in wood.

      Muyiwa Francis I do find it fascinating the level of creative imagination blossoming from the human being in the ancient world... if you think about were so used to all the modern luxurious but for them it was never seen before, never thought of before, never lived before, only in the minds of man... using nature and there own experiences in life to make sense of the chaotic world around them and the mythology storytelling being the most powerful tool to cope with reality and thrive.

    • @sosensualandfree
      @sosensualandfree 4 роки тому +3

      @@camerontaylor7471 They also had the luxury of TIME. These sort of mythologies could only come from years and years of nothing more than the stars, fire and stories to occupy them at night. I was stunned yesterday when I realised I had not really looked up at the clouds for months. They were beautiful. We NEED more unoccupied leisure time.

    • @AnnebelBuntOnline
      @AnnebelBuntOnline 4 роки тому +2

      @@sosensualandfree Most of us humans can easily find ways to distract ourselves from our minds. Most often even without realizing we are escaping reality. I'm not speaking for all of us, just asking: How often do we actually sit in silence and just watch, or listen. To hear nature around you. To see the stars or the skies. To feel your heartbeat, to feel the invisible breeze that moves the leaves of a tree, watching a bird flying by, watching our thoughts pass by without judgement. To be purely and exclusively paying attention to nature and ourselves and be one with that what surrounds you.... Bla, bla bla. I could ramble on. I just think that if I (or we) were to replace more of the time I spend distracting myself in one way or another, with a certain form of meditation/thinking or just watching, I'd have so many more revelations about reality and my life! :)
