The applications are a good starting point but to be really efficient in the street you need to work off live flow drills, they will up your skill set 100 fold.Drills like 4 count 6 count stages etc ....good video
Thanks for the comment, honored and appreciated GM. I look at the grab arts and punch counters as building the foundation and I like the flow drills you do. Very helpful in development of muscle memory and reaction vice rehearsed or coriagraphed response.
Anyone can lose a fight there are several circumstances involved. To me the better the black belt the less he will actually be in fights as he or she are smart enough to know they are dangerous. I sum up with if a black belt is getting in a lot of fights he or she isn't a very good Black belt. If circumstances dictate a certain number of street fights if you can't reasonably defend yourself you are also not a very good Black belt. There is no such thing as a karate guy vs a street fighter. If there is you have been learning the wrong martial arts unless of course you are simply doing it for fun but I say as long as you are putting in the time learn something useful. A excellent martial artist is a excellent street fighter I know a little something about that , heck that's straight Kajukenbo!
And yes Dave teaching does enhance learning the ends and outs of the arts I've said that for years
