I worked at one of those fancy cupcake places where you have to clear out your savings to buy a dozen cupcakes and learned that they just use box mix as well; we just replaced the water with milk and added an extra egg (so if the box called for 3 we did 4) and they came out delicious. So now I don’t waste my time baking cakes from scratch, mix is just as good 😂 this looks great, I know your son loved it!
I love how people use different language in different places. I’m from Chicago and here, the only thing called icing is powdered sugar icing that goes on pastries like cinnamon rolls, danish, coffee cakes, etc. The dense butter cream that goes on cakes is frosting.

I have a watched many a shows about antiques and what not and I have to say I appreciate so much the southern culture of dishware. Like when I found out that people in Tennessee find crocks in peoples basement worth $1200 because it’s a piece of southern history, my heart turned full. I love when a group of people come together to see the over all good in an item, and preserving it for generation with out even knowing it.
This brings back so many lovely memories of my mother making our favourite meals for our birthdays! The sibling rivalry always peaked on birthdays 🤣🤣🤣 Love the video!

im pretty sure the difference is icing hardens when cooled but glaze never does! like a cookie with a stiff icing versus a donut that stays sticky even at room temperature

And before anyone comments asking what the difference between icing and glaze is here: Icing is thinner than frosting but thicker than a glaze. While icings set quickly and stiffen as they dry, glazes also set but don't harden because of their lower sugar content.
