      Of course there is more to it. I just stated the fact that he died this very year and that the coment about it´s not a dangerous sport is extreamly disrespektful.
      The safety features that has come during the last years are great but the thing is you can´t expect them to withstand everything.. Look at jules, there you have another "there is more to it". so when there are a death in racing guess what.. it´s always "more to it".

    I feel like junior formula cars are far less safe then F1. In Formula 1, a driver crashes at 170 mph, more often then not, you’re confident they’ll be okay. In junior formulas, I can’t say the same.

      think it has to do whit the cars being lighter also, even if they do not have the same speed as an F1 car, they also do not have the same aerodynamics, to keept the car to not get airborne, F1 cars even if they get air, most of the time comes down fast, due to their design, you can even se this when they jump, where they literaly gets pulled back down, this doesnt happen whit F3 cars at all, when they get airborne, they function more like a kite.

      Maree - You can always hope, I respect women's talents but F1 is a very demanding discipline, very few men in ALL the world can drive at that level, she would have to be vastly superior and dominate all her counterparts in lesser series to even have a chance to join the club, I remember all the hype Danica Patrick caused in 2005 when she did so well in her first Indy 500, that was a long time ago and no women really emerged to the top series since, I was a believer then, turned out to be a 1 RACE fluke... She had the luck that year to have one of the best performing cars and setup, she was petite 5 feet tall and had a 60 to 80 pounds weight advantage over her male competitors, she almost took the pole... finished well in the race but the magic ended there... She drove years in Cart and was never competitive even has she became more experience and benefited fom top teams and equipment, grew frustated, wanted more fame and cash, went to Nascar in 2 divisions, again with good teams and equipment, results, Zip, nada, she raced in the big leagues from 2005 to 2018, one win in Indycar on pit stategy, that's it! She exploited her gender very wisely however, being young and good looking she made tens of millions of dollars with contracts and endorsements and still manages her brand today as a succesful business woman, but as a talented car driver? Worthless, it would be hard for me to imagine today a woman rising through the ranks and establish herself as a competitive, winning race driver competing with the top dogs, they don't emerge often in lesser categories, and almost never in top tier, so like I said you can hope, but if I were you I wouldn't hold my breath...

    It would be cool to get a female racer into F1 but unfortunetly looking at her series placements if she dosent start to improve her results massivly that isent gonna happen. my knowledge of teams outside of F1 is none existing so i cant tell if her team is back of the grid or in the middle but based on the results she isent in a podium performing car and to advance into the higher series that is almost a must. Her first goal should be to get into a car that can compete for points and then podiums in her current series.

    • @eelihakala4466
      @eelihakala4466 4 роки тому +2

      You really do need experience in karts. Technically it's possible to go straight into single seaters like F4, but no team is going to take a driver without prior experience, atleast without massive financial support from the driver they would be taking. Also, starting at the age of 16 is most likely a lot too late. Most drivers on the F1 grid have started karting before the age of 6-8, so it's very likely impossible for you to become a racing driver anymore

    IMO racing categories inc formula E need look again at using street circuits, there is going to be more almighty pile ups. Race tracks are designed with runs offs with good reason. Getting young in experienced drivers on bumpy streets just to put on a good show in the city centre.
    It's not bringing racing to the masses, it's cheaper than hiring a real race track. Money over safety 🤔

    "The sport is not the safest." says the woman who flew a car into the fence at 270 km/h. I've not been paying close attention to anything in racing besides F1, but if you're watching any other "big" sport, football, american football, cycling, many kinds of winter sports, people are getting injured all the time, during matches, during practice. Rally might be a different story, but open wheel racing or (car) racing in general seems like one of the safest sports I can think of, maybe besides horse riding, rowing and curling. Romain Grosjean rammed his car through a steel barrier, cut it in half and climbed out of the ensuing fireball with slightly burned hands. 50 years ago, after crashes like this, even their parents would have had a hard time identifying whatever remained of him or Sophia Floersch.
