So glad to have found y'all! We plan on being out there in late 2024 with our 7 yo daughter. Love that you have a vintage boat.

Cute little burd; I think it was a Warbler of some kind. There are many types :)

It’s amazing all the different kinds of birds you see out on the water. Some of which you wouldn’t think have any business being there.

Hey Nate! You might want to try putting a weight 20 feet or so from the lure? That would get it a little deeper in the water.❤❤

Thanks for the tip - we’ve played around with that before and I know it’s something we need to come back to. We’ll keep at it!

17:41 Beans, rice, kenoa, carrots, onions....THAT is NOT "gulash". 😀Gulash is a Hungarian dish that is made of TWO ingredients - beef and ball peppers.

Fair enough - I definitely use that word in a much more general way.

When u find little birds like that way off shore there stopping on ur boat to die because of exhaustion my grandfather was a sailer all his life and he said he would trap them and give them food and water and let them go when he gets close to shore.

Hi Nate ,sounds good , Bon Aire ( I;ve been saying Bone Aire ) might be good spot for Christmas , get you some lobster ( good eating ) your sounding kinda serious about pirates . Well yes , no laughing matter , you can't John Wayne it in those situations when they put holes in the boat . Get something nice ( a Rolex will do to barter with ) the crooks ain't stupid ? I guess . Hey yor crew doing good , me & my sis fought even though I'm 3 years older . She would start it out of boredom . They have to work together in their situation . Later on they might have to do some daytime watches .

I really enjoy your videos. I always try to leave a comment but sometimes my comment comes a week or more after I watched the video.

Oh! And I love the blue sail…, can you rig that and one of the other asym sails at the same time?

We probably could. Would use a pole on one. Would be a serious light wind and calm seas set up!

You get more family time living on a boat than us land dwellers and less indoctrination to worry about?
Does the water pump have full flow in and out (clog filters, blockages)?
How does it sound when running?
    Is there anything to lubricate?
Can the pump breath (air flow)?
How's the voltage draw? Is the wire hotter than normal? Connections tight and good contact?
Did I have the right questions to ask myself if I was you? I am not a cruiser. Journeyman Plumber, jack of many trades mastering a few.

You are asking the right questions. To get the PSI up, I’m literally / intentionally restricting the flow so it has to work harder. The ‘solution’ has been to run it as a lower PSI.
I’ve talked to an expert, who suggested the above, and who thinks it may be the thermal switch rather than the whole pump. Meaning it’s not actually too hot when the override kicks it off.
Voltage / wire temp / amperage / sound / flow all good when running.
It’s not meant to be opened or serviced - no internal electrical brushes to scrub or anything internal to lube. (Also learned from the expert since this video, so it’s a good thing I stopped trying to open it up).
Ultimately I’m going to get a new one before we set out across the pacific. This one is limping along and if I was going to stay close to land it would be fine, but I’m not going to trust it with my family in an ocean.

I don't think you sail for the bad times but for the good times. And hopefully the good times outweigh the bad times. When things are going good you really seem to enjoy the sailing. Everything will get better sooner or later.
