I managed to buy this watch for £190 from eBay, a few years back. I've changed the metal bracelet to a Bond grey/black stripes NATO strap. I've got around 20 other watches in my collection, both quartz and mechanical/automatic, but this is the one watch I always come back to wearing the most. This could be the perfect one watch collection watch, easily.
I've had one of these for a couple of years...Love it. So easy to jump to different time zones. Simple face, but I don't need all those other dials and functions that so many other watches are loaded with.
I have yet to see another watch that I would rather have. It is just what I want, the day, date and time. Always correct and doesn't need a battery and it is a thing of beauty that shows me something new almost every day, the way it reflects light. After 5 years, I still haven't seen any other watch I would rather have! Even a Rolex or anything mechanical that you have to fiddle with it all the time if you want to have the correct time. This is the cure for someone who is obsessed with the correct time,

He also said you really can not make a $250,000.00 watch. The price tag may say it because there are people that will simply buy it

Love mine. $1,150 retail at the time I got it, but I got it for 50% off! Worth every penny at full retail and way worth it at $575. I mostly wear Rolex but I don't feel much different when I put this fine timepiece on. It looks high quality and is super functional. It's the watch I take overseas since I can always get the signal from the satellite (unlike my radio transmitter watches) and because I don't feel comfortable wearing Rolex in most places outside of the United States...and even several places in the United States!
I finally found a brand new version of this watch a few days ago. It's an amazing time piece. I swapped the metal band for a nice rubber strap to give the watch more of a sporty look. It fits/feels much better on my wrist than the metal band. Great review, mate!
Own this watch with an aftermarket leather band. I used to own a promaster Satellite wave which was way too busy. Congrats on 1000 plus subscribers. Keep up the good work and they will come.
Got one. Love it. Really odd that Citizen does not put the model number on the watch back. F150 is the module ("calibre") use in many different watches, oincluding the one that you reviewed. The model would be something like "CC3064-01X." That information appears on the hang tag and sometimes, on the literature enclosed with a Citizen watch once upon a time.
It is amazing how it serves up perfect frozen seconds and the perpetual calendar makes it a very perfect watch, especially with the eco-drive. I have had mine for almost a year and it has never been off even a fraction of a second! Update after 5 years of daily wear: it still looks like new and has never been wrong in the time I have owned it! I hope that it will work for the rest of my life and I can leave it to my daughter and it should be right all the way to February 2100!
Back when I was galavanting around the world (am I in Shenzhen today? Stuttgart? Guadalajara? - I get so tired from jet lag I can’t remember) a watch like this would have been perfect. Citizen makes some great watches and this is another fine example. I adore my Nighthawk. I’ve been thinking about getting a GPS watch not because I need it (don’t travel much anymore, thank goodness), but because I think they’re cool. The Casio G-Shock GPW-1000 has always been in the back of my mind as a future purchase, but this Citizen is more traditionally styled and would be a better choice for business attire. Same with the one of the Seiko Astrons. 23 mm strap width though? What were they thinking with that oddball size? Congratulations on 1000 subscribers, Bob! Very well deserved.
Lee K It totally fits the bill perfectly for someone travelling often for work. Like you mentioned with this type of design it blends in nicely with almost any kind of attire. Last night I compared it side by side with my 5610 and the seconds were perfectly in stride with each other so seems to be very accurate. I'd love to check out an Astron at some point but they're a little on the expensive side. Maybe someday. Thanks Lee and have a great weekend:)
I love mine. I’ve only had 3 compliment’s on it one at Vacheron Constantin in Singapore, Mont Blanc in Hong Kong, and a old man in a suit in Tokyo on the green line train he seen the watch and said Citizen I said yes then he said Citizen that made here in Japan. I said yes then he said WOW that is very nice watch. He’s English was to very good so I switched to speaking Japanese and he showed me his Citizen watch I asked him why he didn’t get the satellite wave. He told me no I can not afford that. Probably one of the coolest watch conversations I’ve ever had. Love the watch. If your thinking of getting one I highly recommend it only issue I’ve ever had was the pin fell out where the band mounts to the case. Wasn’t a huge issue tho.
richard oliver Wow. That's a great story. Funny enough the watch I've gotten the most compliments on is a Casio calculator watch. Brings back memories for some people. Thanks and enjoy your Citizen. It's a fantastic watch:)
That screen saver shot you have on your laptop is of the lake at the top of the Sutherland Falls......Fiordland national park in New Zealand......in case anyone was wondering.......
Just bought a similar F150 watch refurbished for about US$275. Mineral crystal instead of sapphire is a disappointment and the blue hands are a poor contrast with the black dial, but on the whole I’m impressed.
I've got both the watch in the video and the one you've got, the Freedom model. Citizen has cut so many corners with the Freedom model... I can't stand it. I just keep it on the windowsill most of the time while wearing my CC3005-51E. They might share the same movement, but the build quality highly differs.
Although it could be just an optical illusion because of the different size of the luminescent material on the watch hands compared to the amount of luminescent material on the watch markers, it appears in this video review of the Citizen Satelite Wave F150 watch that the watch markers ,unfortunately, have subdued luminescent material , whereas the hour and minute hands have vivid luminescent material. Usually Citizen puts equally vivid luminescent material on both the watch hands and the watch markers of their most expensive GPS and radio-control watches and usually only puts subdued luminescent material on their mid--range and lower-range priced model watches.
It's been awhile since I've had this one. Watching the video back I recall it was brighter than it shows in the video. Possibly my camera work at fault here.
Great review. Do you have to manually calibrate it when changing time zones or does it do it automatically when exposed to a clear sky? I think these satellite wave watches are more beneficial then the Citizen Atomic time. Satellite wave watches are effective in both hemispheres where as the atomic time watches are more effective in the northern hemisphere. I reside in Toronto Canada and my Citizen A.T receives a signal from the Fort Collins, Colorado atomic clock. Keep up the great reviews. Congrats on you first thousand, I am sure your subs will keep growing.
Oh cool. Just west of Toronto myself (Burlington). It does everything completely on its own. It's been receiving signal even with a fairly obstructed view of the sky. Had an A.T. myself and it was great but this one is much more snappy when it comes to receiving the signal. Thanks for watching and have a great rest of the weekend:)
You can make the bracelet look like new with a Scotch Brite pad (4X extreme purple, but any other green one). Very little effort and time necessary, just make sure you go in one direction. I found a UA-cam video that showed me how to do it and I was so happy because I was bummed about the scratches on my Citizen F150 satellite wave world time, but not anymore! Be careful about the shiny parts.
I think I may have seen the same video. I've tried it on a clasp lately and it worked great. Also recently picked up Cape Cod cloth which works really well for polished surfaces.
I bought a polyurethane strap for mine from Citizen (Part Number; 59-S53307), and it is like a new watch! It's a lot more comfortable and light and it even makes the watch look better. I still like the way the stainless steel bracelet looks, too, so I switch back and forth on it.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces It turns it into a CC3005-00E, because it is the same strap that it comes with. It is a very good look for the watch and the stainless steel bracelet seems to take away from the watch after comparing them. It makes it about half the weight and it is very comfortable! Cheers! I assume that yours is still holding up well and that the time is always correct, which is why I wanted one in the first place!
Hi this is great video and I like this watch a lot. I preffer this over radio controlled one because signal on those is limited. I have just one question. Is there any way how to tell if its AM or PM. Maybe its stupid question but i dont see any indicator. Thanks for your answer .

I’ve read the manual, followed instructions on the citizen website and watched your video, regardless, by pulling the crown out to the second position and rotating the crown clockwise, the date will not change. Note, this is after pressing and holding the top button for 5 or so seconds. I must be doing something wrong, can you help me. Many thanks, Peter
I would like to shop for thisMODEL but cannot find an F150 model, just many models with an F150 MOVEMENT. Can you post the actual model number? Thanks.
They've both been reliable for me. The radio signal depends a bit on your location in relation to where the signals come from but I haven't had an issue with this watch or my Gshock that uses radio.
TimeToGo Travel And Timepieces thank you very much for your fast answer. I bought this f150 for just 400 $ this summer and its amazing! It’s a pity that i have found your video only now
@@ettorespongano8021 Nice. That's a pretty good deal for it at that price I will say I find this receives signal a little quicker than my Gshock where I live (Canada). Might be because I'm pretty far from the radio towers.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces it seems pretty big, not sure how such a huge watch would look on my relatively thin arm. Probably have to wait until they can miniaturise the GPS receiver some more. Terrestrial radio-controlled watches are available in smaller sizes, e.g., some of the Junghans models.
Uh oh! You're going back deep here. Been awhile but the one thing I remember with the satellite was the speed. It found the signal and adjusted the time very fast.
@ Stephen. Regarding your question as to which is better, a GPS watch or a radio-control watch, think of it in these terms-- a radio-control watch is the better watch in general for 2 reasons. First, it is programmed to receive the time calibration signal every night (that is, every 24 hours) whereas a GPS watch because of the enormous power consumption required for a GPS watch to first acquire the location information signal from 4 GPS satellites and then acquire the time calibration signal from 3 satellites means that most (if not all) GPS watches are programmed to only attempt to automatically get the time calibration signal once every 6 days. Since the basic idea/purpose of owning a time signal reception watch is to not have to constantly reset the time on the watch, the radio-control watch wins out over a GPS watch for that reason. Unless someone lives in an area of the world that is not within range of any of the 6 major time calibration signal transmitters (USA, UK, Germany, Japan, China), then it is better to own a radio-control watch than a GPS watch because you never need to do a manual receive operation on the radio-control watch. Even if the radio-control watch fails to get the automatic time calibration signal 2 or 3 nights in a row because of atmospheric conditions interference, it will get the time signal automatically the next night. Second, radio-control watches are cheaper in price than GPS watches. GPS watches have the advantage of being able to get the time signal faster than radio-control watches, but that advantage is, in my opinion, outweighed by the advantage that radio-control watches have in terms of automatic time signal reception every 24 hours.
@ Steven. I misspelled your first name in my above (previous) response comment to your question about which type of watch (GPS or radio-control) is better. Sorry about the misspelling.
@@michaelbarlow6610 Thanks very much for the reply, it is very helpful 👍👍 Also I didn't even notice it 😀... That is how my dad spells his name though! 😁👍👍 Again thanks!
GPS watch is better option over radio controlled because for getting correct time it requires one sattelite and this GPS signal reception is very reliable. I owned radio controlled watch and when you are in wrong location, the probability for wrong radio signal reception is higher, also during bad weather condition.
I read a review of this watch that said you have to set the timezone yourself, the GPS doesn't detect the timezone. Is that true? Hard to believe since that would largely defeat the purpose of GPS time setting. Asking for clarification. Thanks.
You do have to push the button to get it to detect the time zone. You can also set the time zone manually, which is just as easy. You do have to set the daylight savings time for each of the 40 time zones.
Owned one for about 4 years. Bought it brand new right when it came out almost by accident. You need to manually set it. But it takes like 10 seconds and even adjust to the weird time zones in the Caribean. Like PR and Haiti that go in and out of observing daylight savings. If your concern is syncing to keep exact time Need not worry because I just found out about 3 months ago its a Quartz movement with maybe the highest accuracy calibration of almost any watch even those of thousands and 10s of thousands of dollars. its accuracy is within +- 1 second per year.
You can get a rubber (silicone) one from Citizen directly for 51.50 +. Part number is 59-S53307. I have one and I have both of the bracelets, the stainless steel and the silicone black they are both beautiful. Yes, it is 23 mm.
I have had the Citizen Eco-drive F150 satellite wave (about 2 years) on my travels across Canada. On my first trip from Calgary, AB to Vancouver, BC (Canada 150) it did not change time zone. On my trip to Maritime Provinces, it did not change automatically to Atlantic time. Disappointing.
That's odd! I've traveled with mine a couple times and had no issue with it changing the time. I'm Canadian too BTW. Live in the Toronto area but originally from New Brunswick. Thanks for checking out the vid.
We left Colorado DIA, flew to Halifax (last week of July, 2018) and the watch stayed on mountain time. Same with our trip to western Canada (Alberta and BC Canada 150). Our second day in BC, it was still on mountain time.
@@choe627 it does not check the time zone automatically. You have to long press the top button to get the RX-GPS mode to activate. Otherwise, it will just be correcting the time and not the location.
Every night at midnight it tries to find signal to set time otherwise you need to set the watch to search for signal when outside and it will change then
OK, had my F150 GPS for a few months now. Compared to my Waveceptor AT4007-54E ATOMIC, it has not impressed. Explanation: GPS requires manual sync every couple of days, ATOMIC is automatic (4 times a day). GPS requires manual daylight saving adjustment, ATOMIC is automatic. GPS costs twice the price as ATOMIC. On the positive side, the GPS looks and feels better so if you want jewellery, go for the GPS. If want a totally automatic and practical time piece, It's the ATOMIC.
Disagree. I live in California’s Central Valley. Have had three previous AT watches and clocks. All three had big trouble receiving the Ft. Collins, CO radio signal….usually could only sync late at night. With the GPS…just hold it face up outside for less than a minute…and you get the updated time and the time zone you’re in. Never failed to sync yet…at any time…day or night. It will automatically sync also if it hasn’t been resynced within 6 days.

Hello, I would like please to ask, if the sapphire crystal is also anti-reflective, also how many grams does the watch weigh? Many thanks
these are going for under $300 on ebay! crazy considering Casio Satellite watches are $3,000!!!!! MR-G may ass
Does it have an alarm? If yes, is the alarm volume decent and not wimpy?
Unfortunately no alarm. I think the F900 has one but not sure what kind of volume you get out of it.
How much does it weight?
Hi I know this is a old video but I was wondering which you prefer or think is better, satellite or radio wave?
@@michaelbarlow6610 Thanks very much for the reply, it is very helpful 👍👍
Also I didn't even notice it 😀...
Thanks.
Not sure what they were talking about but it does set itself. I've traveled with the watch and never had to touch it to adjust time.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces Thanks very much for confirming. Great channel!
@@makahaj341 No problem at all. Thanks!
You do have to push the button to get it to detect the time zone. You can also set the time zone manually, which is just as easy. You do have to set the daylight savings time for each of the 40 time zones.
What do you need a 200m water resistance for?
Why do you need a car that goes over 100mph? Don't use it but nice to know it's there:)

Does the watch sync with GPS automatically without having to manually sync?
Owned one for about 4 years. Bought it brand new right when it came out almost by accident. You need to manually set it. But it takes like 10 seconds and even adjust to the weird time zones in the Caribean. Like PR and Haiti that go in and out of observing daylight savings. If your concern is syncing to keep exact time Need not worry because I just found out about 3 months ago its a Quartz movement with maybe the highest accuracy calibration of almost any watch even those of thousands and 10s of thousands of dollars. its accuracy is within +- 1 second per year.
O Canada. 😊
23mm straps? Are those a thing?
They're a rarity for sure!
You can get a rubber (silicone) one from Citizen directly for 51.50 +. Part number is 59-S53307. I have one and I have both of the bracelets, the stainless steel and the silicone black they are both beautiful. Yes, it is 23 mm.
Is there any noticable difference between this and the cc3005-51e?
I believe it's the same watch.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces thanks.
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces also is this model available with a completely black face and bracelet?
@@juanmckee3798 Not sure. Gave it a Google search but no luck finding one.

Every night at midnight it tries to find signal to set time otherwise you need to set the watch to search for signal when outside and it will change then
I lost some weight so Christopher removed a link at Hanoush... no charge.
Cool! Congrats on the weight loss. My wife and I actually just recently started back at the gym.
Why does it need 200m wr? It is not diver anyway
I know! What were they thinking :)
100m is more than enough. It will even handle recreational scuba diving!
i found this watch at ~450$ and it's great except i don't like that it's not sapphire. it's a mineral crystal and not very scratch-proof
Definitely a good price! Too bad about the crystal. Sapphire's always nice to have. Thanks:)
It absolutely is a sapphire crystal.
It definitely has a sapphire crystal
@@whodeycinbengals it's possible they have so many variants of this watch.
All valid points and definitely a clear winner. Thanks for sharing that.
But u can not use Atomic around the world.
@@hoang16191 Yes you can.
Let me know if you get down below 100 meters depth! I will bet that you will fail at 10 atmospheres before the watch does. Just kidding!
I'm sure I'd fail long before the watch did lol. Cheers:)
@@TimeToGoTravelAndTimepieces I just got a new one just like it. It is my most favorite watch, ever, and I have had a few! Thanks for the great review.
