    Hey y'all! The Burton Cotton Gin Festival is a super fun, small town festival that usually occurs every April. (Burton's population is 300.) The festival supports the town's 1914 cotton gin, which is the oldest operating cotton gin in the USA. If you'd like more information on next year's festival, visit their website: www.texascottonginmuseum.org/events.html . We happened to be staying at nearby Rocky Creek Park during the festival. It's the perfect basecamp for exploring Burton. rvtexasyall.com/region-central-texas/campgrounds/rocky-creek-park

    The dinner bell brings back memories! When I was a kiddo in the 50’s, a mom in my neighborhood would ring a dinner bell to call her kids home for supper. Be careful, you might have extra campers at your table!

    Love the Video with this Cotton Gin Festival. Having grown up in a small town, which is fun to do, we are always having parades and festival activities still today. Great Job Tom & Stacie, and the musical background was awesome.

    Really enjoyed the video. I was looking up information on my great grandmother from Mexia last year. Found her obituary and it said her husband my great grandfather ran the Cotton Gin in Groesbeck, Tx. Never saw a cotton gin until this video. So, thanks again.

    It's SO COOL when "progress" takes a back seat to preserving history!!!! (That doesn't happen nearly often enough, sad to say. Far too many of what "should have been" historical monuments have been razed to the ground over the years instead of saving them for future generations to enjoy and appreciate where they came from.) Thanks for this.
    Edited to add: Mad respect to the Texas Rangers LEOs. Where's Cordell Walker when you need him? On his HORSE of course. 😉 LOL!!!

    Hi My husband and I are curious how miles you can cover on one tank of fuel?

    • @rvamericayall
      @rvamericayall  4 роки тому +1

      Hi Lee. We have a 70 gallon fuel tank on our 2017 Tiffin Breeze 31BR. We could go a total of about 600 miles on a tank of fuel. But we don't go more than 450 miles before we refuel. If the fuel gets too low, the generator will shut off as a safety precaution. We run the generator when we travel so we can run the roof air conditioners.

    I didn't see anyone wearing a mask. Has there not been any COVID cases in that area? I know Texas is being hit hard with COVID-19. Loved the video, stay safe!

    • @rvamericayall
      @rvamericayall  4 роки тому +3

      Hey Gregory! Folks were careful to distance, which was easy to do since the festival stretched out several blocks and the town only has a population of 300 folks. And there were not many cases in this area. We hear that this was a scaled down version of the festival with fewer displays, booths and events. We look forward to seeing the full festival in the future.
