Hi Andrea. I am new to sewing. I am so glad that I found your channel, because you give so much inspiration. I love the way you explain in depth the instruction for creating each piece. I love the way you give the dimensions in your comments. You have inspired me to continue with this craft. Thank you so much.
Thank you for sharing your experience Ina! I am so glad you are enjoying the channel and having success at the sewing machine.
All the very best for the new year Andrea and family, glad to have you back in looking forward to every tutorial you will be posting, again I thank you for the past and thank you for the present and future to come
Hello Lucky and Happy New Year to you too! It's great to be back and I am excited to share more inspiration with you in 2020.
I'm anticipating the training and preparing for those beautiful projects to start
Hi from birmingham, England Andrea! I could listen to you all day, you are a fantastic teacher. Thank you for all you do for us 💓
Andrea, this is the best thing I have seen regarding sewing and learning new skills and keeping a record of everything. I am very impressed by your organization and I desperately needed this, but didn't know how to get it done. Again, Thank you, Andrea
This makes me so happy Ivonne! I am thrilled that the new system appeals to you and will be helpful.
You are very welcome 🙏🏼. I appreciate this series so much. I am happy too. 😍
Oh my gosh! This is perfect! In thinking about my pocket design before watching this, I was actually wondering if layering pockets would be possible, but I wasn't sure if it might be a crazy idea. But yay, it's not crazy after all!! Thank you Andrea!
Definitely not crazy! I love, love, love layering material to add function. So excited for you!
thank you for this great video. Love the design book idea . I am so organised that my notes are usually on scraps of paper that go missing or end up in the bin. Hoping this year I am going to be more organised and am planing on starting a design book. Just never had an idea of how to plan it before. So thank you for inspiring me. I am also intrigued by you construction methods. It seems quicker and easier. I have been use to sandwiching zip in between two fabric sewing then flipping right sides out pressing top stitching etc. Also love the pocket construction having a lip at top from bev in france
So glad you are enjoying the new recipes Beverley! Next Tuesday we will be sewing some piping on exterior side pockets. Please join us then!
I absolutely love this new format and am looking forward so much to your future recipes . Cant wait to start my new recipe folder . Thank you Andrea for continuing to come up with such inspirational designs and ideas xx
This makes me so happy Janette! I was nervous to make such a big change; but, it seems many in our community are excited for this opportunity.
I learn so much from you Andrea, thanks for sharing.
Thank you Debbie!
Hello from Ontario, Canada! Love your videos Andrea, my teacher.
Thank you Mary Ann! That was such a fun little chat!
I love this style you are presenting for 2020, it totally feels like me, especially when you showed your design book. I can’t wait to come along for creative journey this year with you Andrea ...it’s going to be amazing 😉
Awe Julie! This makes me so happy. Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am excited for us both!

Thank you Misty! I am excited too and having a lot of fun with the book.

Glad you liked it Anna Marie!
Hi Andrea... awesome!!! Wonderful beginning to 2020....can't wait for the rest of it....love...shukila
Thank you Shukila and Happy New Year to you!
Happy New Year Andrea. Well, this is inspiring. I am looking forward to all this. I must go out and find a suitable design book. I have some ideas of my own based on your methods that I want to play around with. This pocket design is really interesting and I like it that it can be customised to suit my needs. eg. I would prefer to not joint the gingham material all the way through the zip pocket. I would prefer to have the zip portion of the pocket a large space for maybe putting pattern pieces etc, then the portioned gingham section would be great for my glue pen, marking pencils etc. See you next time. Your Aussie friend, Sue.
Happy New Year Sue! I hope you are well. We are watching the news and sending lots of love your way! I am happy you are inspired by the new direction for the channel and the design book. It has already proven to be very useful for me and I am looking forwarding to sharing more recipes with our community.
Brilliant!!
Thank you Donna!
Happy New Year my dear friend, I love what you’ve come up with, very exciting indeed and your fabric is gorgeous!!! 💚
Thank you Tina! I think we can have a lot of fun with this new presentation and am excited to share more recipes with you in 2020. Happy New Year!
Andrea did you fold the bottom edge of the outer slip pocket (red plaid) as well but not sew it ?
Great question! The top pocket is folded at the base and stitched to the floral pocket. The base of the floral pocket will be stitched to the interior bag panel.
I'm new. I love your recipe book. Where are your master classes
Hello Ada! The 6th session of my Master Class begins July 6, 2020 at Patreon.com/Sewspire
Happy new year Andrea, so looking forward to seeing what you have for us this year, thankyou again for all your great projects and look forward to more. From Jo in the UK 😊x
Thank you Jo!
Love this new format question do you have patterns available for the camera bags?
So glad you like the format Linda! I do have a pattern for the camera bag: but, it is currently not available for sale as I am rewriting the Sewspire pattern collection.
Thanks for replying so quick look forward to when they are available again
Happy New Year
Happy New Year Sylvia!
Are you thinking of Garanimals? I loved those. It made it so easy to put together an outfit.
YES! I said something else in the video and had to edit it out. It was silly and made me laugh.
I love the design book. I recently started a composition notebook but it didn't last long...partly I think because I looked at it as something to just "scribble" notes on. This is more of a permanent book that is a creative process in itself, so I think I would enjoy recording in it.
Oh yes Marti I understand! I like the 8.5 x 11 size book so I have plenty of room to record my thoughts. If you mess up a page just fold it over and use it for notes or as a section divider.
Hi Andrea I've been trying sign up for a membership in your parter on for a month. There seems to be a glitch. How can I work this out?
Hello Vesta and thank you for reaching out. I just added a few more spots at the Collaborator Level for $10 per month: www.patreon.com/join/Sewspire/checkout?rid=3820392
Happy new year's from Canada
Happy New Year Jeannie!
Are all the measurements written down somewhere? I would love to make this bag soon.
I had hoped to have the PDF pattern for you by now. I just upped it on my to do list!
Maybe a dumb question but how much fabric do I need to make this project?
Thanks for asking!
The project is ongoing...you can get step by step instructions for each element here:
ua-cam.com/play/PLl0sQub1RqbvBVwlHXTz0UmSzjqN2BJHP.html
Once the bag is finished I can calculate the total fabric req's.
Great video and super impressed with your organization skills! One question....where did you get that self healing cutting mat with the piecing templates? That is fabulous!
So glad you enjoyed the video! The mat was a gift from my friend Elisabeth who moved to Hawaii and had to giveaway the contents of her sewing room. When I return to the studio I will see if I can find the name of the company that made it. Might be a day or two as school is cancelled here for snow.
Sewspire why thank you so much. Enjoy the snow. Blessings
How can one get in on the new Master Class when this stayed that it begins on 1/6, but this video didn’t post until 1/7, after the fact?
Are the classes live or recorded do that they can be accessed at anytime?
Hello Carolynn, We had our first group chat last night. Everything is recorded if you would like to sign on it is not too late. We have an awesome group this session and everyone has just picked our their material: www.patreon.com/join/Sewspire/checkout?rid=3820392
I love your design but what about the pen pockets. If the pen falls in the bottom how will you get it. You would have to dump the bag upside down to get it out. Do you see what I m saying?
Excellent question! I use the pens with the clips and as such they sit nice at the top. For this recipe you would simply stitch a vertical line 4" up from the base of the gingham pocket to create a shallow pen slip that prevents the pen from falling into the pocket.
Perfect. Thank you. 💕
Is there a pattern/instructions for the bunting/garland hanging in your studio.
Yes, if you search bunting on Sewspire.com it should be there 👌
