I’ve made tons of tote bags but I never used bias binding this particular way. I just made the cutest bag using this method. It was lots of fun and I like using multiple fabrics on the outside. Thanks again.

I'd love to see this with a zippered pocket on the outside and a pocket and a zippered pocket of inside. Maybe even a divider that is zippered. You explain and show how to make thing better than most. I really enjoy your videos. Thanks.

Hi Whitney - I love making drop in linings and zipper panels for my tote bags. I do mine a little different so that bias binding isn’t needed for finishing off the bag. It’s finished once I sew around the top and no raw edges.
Your way looks great with the bias binding. It adds a special touch to the bag. It’s just one less step and a little bit quicker for me.
Love how pretty this bag turned out. Nice fabric choices! It’s always great when little ones can put things away themselves.
Great job. Love it. Hugs! 🤗

What an awesome bag, Whitney! I've always liked the look of a tote bag with a band of fabric different than the body of the bag and handles and also with a recessed zipper. You made this bag look like it is totally doable 👌 Thanks for sharing. And yes, please show more DIY organization ideas 😄

Thanks Whitney. You are such an awesome person, sewer, teacher. I LOVE this bag with the recessed zipper. You make it easy. I will be trying it soon. For marking fabric, I have tried so many kinds of marking tools. The one I found works the best EVERY TIME........ Sharpie marker's (Black). Fine point. Marks on everything, it is always easy to see. I make ALL my own bias tape ( binding) so I can match or contrast with my project fabric. Thanks again for your wonderful, easy to follow tutorial. 💜💜

Love your videos (always puts a smile on my face when I see a notification for a new video you've uploaded!) and love this bag. Would be great to make a version of this bag where the top raw edges are hidden under the lining so no bias tape needed. I haven't been sewing long but already made a few of your projects and will attempt this zipper bag but leaving a gap in the lining to turn it through so I won't need to use the bias tape. Think all I'll need to do is treat the zipper part like I would straps, so making sure they are tucked down while I sew on the lining 🤔 then turn it through and see what mistakes I've made 🤣

I'm looking forward to building one for myself. . .
I think a zippered tote bag of camouflage material might be just the thing for all the soldiers deploying overseas on behalf of all of us...
It'll demonstrate a sense of style and grace for those defending our country is such minimalist and austere environments. . . (wink)

    ... U DUN GUD ...

How would one go about turning one of your tote projects into something insulated - for a quick picnic with a few frozen bottles of water in them to keep other things cool until lunchtime? (grin)
Is insulated material hard to work with...? cut and sew into a bag...?
