Stevie did an interesting thing I’ve noticed on a few songs where he starts with a complicated high hat rhythm then simplifies it once the bass kicks in but in a way that it doesn’t sound like it’s changed unless you listen closely. It’s like he tricks your brain into hearing bits that aren’t there anymore.
I’m not going to lie my brother, this is my favorite lesson you have done to date….I loved your feel, instruction and that drum setup and sound!! Very inspirational to this ‘old guard.’ Thank you. 🙏🏻🥁😍
Hallo Mr. Hoffmann, very interesting subjects...would you be so kind and specifiye what brand and type of Metronome Notebook software you are using? I am on the lookout for such big Metronome Digits or a very big (!) screen metronome "conductor" signals - symbols of a baton or evene such changing digits ? Thanx
Hey, very cool video!!! I like stevie :-) I did a rock/metal drum cover of the song my tears from dayon deimos. I would like to hear your feedback, to the video and the sound. Much technical work is in the sound. Greetings Gerald
Sorry mate but as soon as you said '4 on the floor' i had to comment. He plays 'swung' doubles on the kick....on the 2nd beat of a dotted quaver and on the beat of the next note. Your hi-hat part is decent but yeah i think what i've said is more authentic..i could be wrong.
Q : How do you teach a duck about soul music ?
A : You put it in the microwave until its bill withers.
🤦🏻♂️😂😂

Great lesson for a song that is not as easy as it sounds. Another tool I use is listening back to my own performance.
Great advice.
And thank you 🙏🏼
Lots of practice!!! that stuff is not easy. People think fast heavy metal is hard but to me this is very difficult to deliver. Well done!
thank you Gian
@@ChrisHoffmannTube of course… thank you!
Nice to see younger guys liking these grooves. Enjoyed this video.
Love your mixture of drum knowledge, theory and musical context. Thank you!
Thank You Matthew 🙌🏼 Much appreciated 🙏🏼
Thank you! Awesome lesson of a legendary groove. I love Stevie and this makes me appreciate his special talents even more.

Good job !
Thank you
Thank you for this. My band are working on this for an upcoming Halloween gig. 😊
Have you expanded elsewhere on any of the fills in the song?
Gran bella lezione ❗☮️🥁☮️❗

The App is called Click Metronome in the App Store. Hope that helps :)
Thank you !
I am quite surprised, I thought Hal blaine or Richard Allen played the drums on Superstition!
Stevie must be so talented to also play drums!
Jeff Beck came up with the part.
❤️❤️❤️🍪🍪🍪
Are you kidding?! :D I said under your cover by Pascal that I'd pay for a lesson and voila here it is. Where do I pay guys?
