Texas high school football is the real deal! Looks like a D1 program. The best states for high school football and D1 talent products (In my opinion) are Texas, Florida, California, Georgia, Louisiana, Ohio and Alabama. No specific order really. Just based on the number of 5 star recruits from each state and the awesome high school football programs in those states.
I've lived and watched ball in 3 of them for over 30 years. I live in UT now, went to 1 season's games in the top division and can't stand watching it and haven't gone back - and a local sportswriter here told me which schools had the best programs etc. My kids graduated from Allen HS - last one the spring before they won State for the 1st time...

Texas has the best high school football in the nation. There's no year no matter how good you are that you're a shoo in to win a Texas football title. If the big Texas cities had a handful of super loaded private schools each there's a high likelihood the national champ would come out of Texas the majority of the time. In my opinion that would also dilute the rich experience of high school football Texas offers! I have seen Aledo in action up close and for to be a smaller program they play much bigger. Shame with this issue of covid there might not be any football this season, my sympathies go out to all of the players, coaches and their families.
I want to see how they would fair against the other state championship teams like northshore westlake and katy. Would love to see who would be the best in all of texas
