That skateboard is such a vibe. Generally, this setup is insane since I eventually will have a gaming mini- pc/MacBook setup. Thank you for the inspiration
As someone who is about to transition to working from home, this has been a perfectly timed video for me. The best thing I think I will take away will be moving my PC off my desk. I have a sit/stand desk so put it on the desk to avoid the cabling issues. I now have some shelves behind my desk (built into cubby holes in the wall so will try using that) Thanks for the ideas Joe, always appreciate this kind of content.
Well that was refreshing. I'm tired of seeing people mention the same 7 things they all use it gets boring real quick. But your setup was pretty unique, especially the skateboard desk shelf. Good stuff man
This is a really great setup. If had to describe it one word would be "Organic". It's really cozy and inspires to create. It also has a lot of personality. In the cliche UA-cam "Setup Videos" yours really stands out.
I have the same monitor. It's been sitting at storage since I got myself a Huawei Mateview. I will resurrect it as soon as I have my second computer set up ready to go.
Hey mate! Lovely video I really liked your commentary and your sense of humour. The b-roll and the overall video and sound quality were amazing. I will definitely join one of your streams! Keep up the good work!
Could you explain a little bit more about the audio routing? I see that you have the headphones (great), and cables plugged in to the monitor out jacks (I'm assuming this goes to your desk speaker) - but where are the Stereo Outs going?
You are pushing me closer and closer to getting an instagram account. Love the breakdown of your gear and I do love the skateboard shelf. I may have to see if I can find a decent Linkin Park deck.
Love the setup and I hope to have mine as clean looking someday! I have a question about your loupedeck, what preset or profile do you have for premier pro? Did you set one up yourself? I am looking for a preset so that I can use mine for editing too! Cheers!
Sweet setup! I want to go the same route when it comes to. Streaming and using my MacBook as an encoder. Would love to see a video about how you go about doing that on top of using an ulterawide as well! That ultra wide problem is my roadblock right now lol
yeh.. I end up just using a capture card for the pc and just run it at 16:9. Hoping there will be an easy way in future to capture higher resolutions at odd aspect ratios.
i have a mac mini / PC stream setup with currently no audio mixer. i dont use and XLR mic im using blue yeti with a BT headset. any recommendations on a mixer then would work well?
Any more info on the audio routing to your Mac? Planning out a similar setup but not sure how I'm going to get the audio to be as plug and play as yours looks!
Very nice set up. I'm not sure this was mentioned but, what type of desk do you have? Lookin for a sit'n'stand desk myself and the one you have seems to be perfect.
Hey, great vid! The only thing that I'd need solved as well, and I'm finding by far the hardest, is using the mirrorless camera on Macbook (for zoom meetings) and on windows desktop (for streaming, meetings, gaming)... How would you solve this, with the least possible amount of unplugging and plugging each time I need to 😣?
Hey Joe, apologies for hijacking your videos, but I was just wondering if you knew if scrub dota was ever coming back? We miss it :( Hope your independent work is going well btw, I'm leaving my company to start my own freelancing career In May too!

Aside from the awesome setup, that skateboard shelf is such an awesome and unique touch!
This is a fantastic setup all the way around, especially the skateboard desk shelf- very creative 🙌🏼

Getting some distance from your pc really helps your workspace feel bigger too which is great :)

The best setup I've seen to date! The colors are just so aesthetically pleasing! 🔥🔥🔥
I really like your setup man, it's unpretentious which I see in most desk setups.
thanks :)) practicality > flashy tech

sick setup broo
thanks youuu :)
Love the setup mate, especially the skateboard shelf.. very unique👌🏼
Hah thanks Tom! Good to see you’re on YT now :))
@@JoeHickson thanks dude! about time haha.
Skateboard on the desk is my favorite part.
I respect the tilt shift camera look. I was caught off guard by it haha but very nice and clean setup!
Very sweet set up! Love the cork on the black indeed.
Loved the video, Joe! Great job!
Thanks Duude :))
Very neat and refreshing setup. Love the use of the skateboard!
I have the same monitor. It's been sitting at storage since I got myself a Huawei Mateview. I will resurrect it as soon as I have my second computer set up ready to go.
I have the caldigit dock provided to me by my employer and it makes switching incredible! All else I have is an A/B usb switch for mouse and KB
It’s a pair of phones for your head, a phone is a speaker meant for input/output of audio, generally used for communication
Can we get a chair review?
I've always loved your desk setup. So I am very happy that you shared this video
Ergohuman is the chair. Though I think a lot of companies make the exact same chair
Hey mate! Lovely video I really liked your commentary and your sense of humour. The b-roll and the overall video and sound quality were amazing. I will definitely join one of your streams! Keep up the good work!
thanks! see you there :))
damn sir this is the exact color scheme I want in my setup! so good
There's that plant we all know and love from the coffee with Joe streams 🤣

definetly stealing the skateboard idea! great setup!
Wow, the whole setup is so clever. Pretty too! Do you ever have any trouble with Mort getting into the cables?
When he was a kitten he would try and eat headphone cables but he’s well behaved now haha :)
insane how much of the workload the mac takes
I’m always surprised at how much it can handle
Love the setup and I hope to have mine as clean looking someday! I have a question about your loupedeck, what preset or profile do you have for premier pro? Did you set one up yourself? I am looking for a preset so that I can use mine for editing too! Cheers!
damnnnn bro love your setup
A great alternative to the razer key light is the Godox ES45 it has a detachable remote that controls temp and brightness. Great video and setup
love a good cheap alternative! I'll keep them in mind if im ever in need of more thanks :)

Love the skateboard deck as a shelf!! I must add one to my desk!! Thank You!!!
What cam are you using for the intro chest shot if I may ask? Love the video thank you!
If you were to connect your keyboard to your mac, how would you theoretically go about doing it?
i have a mac mini / PC stream setup with currently no audio mixer. i dont use and XLR mic im using blue yeti with a BT headset. any recommendations on a mixer then would work well?
I have usb switch with remote pilot from Amazon. In this case I can easy share keyboard and mouse.
Any more info on the audio routing to your Mac? Planning out a similar setup but not sure how I'm going to get the audio to be as plug and play as yours looks!
Made a video on it literally 2 vids ago :)
@@JoeHickson Somehow I wiped this from my brain, thank you
How did you managed to keep desktop pc so far from monitor? And did you do the cable management?
I wish im clever enough to understand this. So your mic connect to PC and audio come from both pc and mac?
Very nice set up. I'm not sure this was mentioned but, what type of desk do you have? Lookin for a sit'n'stand desk myself and the one you have seems to be perfect.
its a fully Jarvis :)
Hey man, I'm curious to know if you've looked into a KVM switch?
Ye I know of them, maybe down the line, but still like actually using the Mac keyboard and trackpad :)
What a pretty nice place tho
What camera arm mount are you using? That’s quite impressive
Do you know any Capture Card that work with MacBook Air M1, I'm planning to use my Mac as a streaming PC to capture from my Windows 11 PC
How did you do the routing for the audio? I tried looking at past videos but didn’t see anything :/
Is there a reason you went for a Macbook over something like a Mac Studio?
read the insta DM's haha :)
“Minimal dual pc setup”

Would a usb switcher not work?
@@JoeHickson any recommendations?
you didn't mention your snake plant 😢 I love how the leaves are arranged.
It's starting to get out of hand! another bright summer and it will be taller than the monitor haha
Hey Joe, apologies for hijacking your videos, but I was just wondering if you knew if scrub dota was ever coming back? We miss it :(

Soon maybe!
And good luck going freelance:)
@Joe Hickson thanks for the reply Joe
What is that docking station called ?
whats the wallpaper on the MAC?
its by William Dylan Domeyer :)
what is the length of the table in cm ?
hey, how'd you put the caldigit under the desk?
currently held up by velcro tape, but getting a 3d printed holder for it as it keeps falling! hah
you got to do something about those cables, so many cables hanging from the desk.. Though overall great video!
bruh done shame me hahaa
I came for a pc setup video end up RUUUUUUSSSSHHH EEEEEEE
My cat would eat all that’s shit up like a tasty bowl of gourmet ramen noodles made of tech cables. 🤬
CHOMP!
Great video, but avoid the weird, jarring music in the background. It's so distracting.
What kind of accent is that lol
