No one has pointed this out but Ilia has faced mostly grapplers with at best mediocre striking. Emmett is the best striker that he has fought and Volk is a superior striker to Emmett. Ilia has the skills to challenge Volk and Volk doesnt want to eat a flush shot from Ilia but Volk will leave less openings than Ilia. The best thing that Ilia has right now is that Brenden has pushed all his chips on to Volk. 👀😲

@@gb1433 wasn't three in a row... after their 2nd match - he gave Kattar a masterclass, beat yair and then took the L against volk in their 3rd fight (real ones know their 2nd fight was supposed to be a W for Max). Went on to beat the next contender allen and ko'd korean zombie next. volk was right in advising ilia not to fight Max, his chances would of been derailed.
He'd have never fought Volkanovski then.
Max would "Kalvin Cattar" him while yelling "who's the best boxer in the UFC"
He's lucky he's getting a title shot and only gets it because Volk's cleaned out the division. I'm not saying he's bad he's top5 caliber but Max, Yair, Ortega even all give him competitive fights.

Henry's picks are almost always very on point. I feel like most other fighters don't even bother studying the matchup and just pick based on their personal favourite. Even Firas who's GSP's coach makes very uneducated guesses
