Great instructional! We travel all over the world filming in remote regions and have begun teach ourselves defense basics and one of our crew has started classes in Seattle. This will come in handy in Northern Western China where they carry very big wooden bats!! Cheers, The Crew

In before all the people who will say "this doesn't work in real life, only works with compliant partner" yada yada yada. I can attest, it works in real life. You just have to be quick on your feet and not hesitate.

X 2, EXACTLY .... thats the in inherent flaw of krav training,
the most important part of krav....you HAVE to be/ act (( fast and explosive with no hesitation )) or you will get your ass handed to you
You achive that through spending a few minutes everyday practicing the various angles in a mirror at the very least. its okay to start out slow to learn, but you have to get to a point and then train everyday like its the real thing, same speed, intensity, aggression and confidence as if it were the real deal ...
Me i spend about 10 to 15 minutes practicing this in the bathroom mirror every morning before shower... and yes sometimes my dick hits me in the face ... it happens

On this video .... would this same technique also work against a machete attack ? ...
machete attacks are becoming a little more common in the news for my personal comfort these days, and something id like to add to my repertoire of daily 15 minute krav maga bathroom mirror trianing work outs
    Thanks

I'm pretty sure if you go to knife disarmaments and bat disarmaments it'll be practically the same, just on knife one you'll have to keep a bit more distance for the blade is longer. They try to cover all weapons but that takes awhile, hope this helps

      Thanks for the reply....
i can see both sides of that debate... getting closer or keeping distance, the problem i see is a machete is around 24 to 36 inches long with a some what sharp single edge like a knife but because of its length and mass its more of a club
So its almost its own animal as its more of a deeper longer arm throwing hacking weapon rather then a thrusting pointed stabbing and slashing weapon
So i tend to lean toward defending a machete like you would a club or stick, but gez you miss on defense just once and you could easily loose 1/2 your arm in one hack attack so i dont know, im just not sure ... but i guess that is the nature of the blades over any other weapon... and blades are the ones i fear the most and there for would be more hesitation and wham, im down for the count, my lack of confidence bleding out before me

Lmao practicing in a mirror isnt gonna do shit You have to train your muscle memory to respond to the non compliance of your opponent or it's useless

      Prop Paper u see a machete ..
u haul ass....what if u cant run away?? well..dont be a dumbass to get urself in that position in the first place...
u wanna add the ultimate tool to ur arsenal?? a tool which is much more than just a martial art...its a life skill...practice situational awareness...it will not only help u in a high stress survival scenario...but also in life...u'll start paying real attention to the things that "matter"
      long answer short...avoid....the mechete..the gun..the knife...the stick...avoid it all...identify potential threats....
u can 100% stop one person with a mechete....i have done it....just shoved a tiny piece of pebble in his eyes...and palmed it deep in...while grabing his wrist....

      ua-cam.com/video/wXCjF2JVmNE/v-deo.html
check it out...its a very humbling piece of video....then u'll know what im saying....just notice the 1st couple of guys...who identified the trouble and got out...and saved themselves....it was situational awareness bro...i only believe in two fighting systems...krav maga and Keysi fighting method...but i believe in situational awareness more...
why go thru it...when u can go around it....especially when the shit aint worth going thru....
      just saying bro

Ciao, vorrei farvi delle domande, spero tanto di avere una risposta. 1 il krav maga si può imparare in palestra senza istruttore? Magari guardando video come i vostri e allenarsi sulle vostre tecniche. 2 il krav maga è difficile da imparare? (Ps siete grandi)

No one will throw the stick like that, they would swing out to attack with the stick. In this video it shows how to defend from a inside swing from a stick. How do you defend with an outward swing from a stick?

The thing I didn’t like was that he released control of the weapon as he struck the guy which could allow him to back up and re-strike.

You dont push with the knee to disarm, you hit with the knee in the hand or arm while you drag out with your hand the stick.

    🤔Same principle all the time...
Closing the distance always favour empty handed person who attempts to disarm someone with a weapon in hand😂

You are practicing a scenerio that stick fighter does not move and react, as a double stick and sword fighter i am pretty sure about i could react and step back, that technic is just nonsense

Sorry guys but this isn't helpful.. You are most likely not going to fight somebody that is practising backhand with a bat/stick. They will probably try to hit you from above or from the outside-in (like forhand in tennis :D )
